She Don't Look Normal, She Don't Fly Normal

So I got this mini-helicopter for Christmas. Loved it. Immediately scored a super cheap but really great, higher grade one. Still only $30, normally $129 on Amazon.

Anyway.

Great new chopper. Looks like this except blue.

So I start thinking how can I make this cooler.

Like this.

I am going to build a Blue Thunder body, if I can get the weight right.

The mid section has to stay open for the gears, battery and motor to stay cool and work right. They get hot the slow down.

if you haven';t already, go check out RCgroups for possible bodies already made by fans for this little guy under micro helies

This build is going to have to be super light.

Attaching a kit would be way too heavy, some concessions will have to be made for weight and balance. Plus the tail rotors on this are horizontal, so it will have to stick up through the tail, which will probably only be two flat image attached to the tail boom.

ive got 4 of these..they worked great for a while, but now they wont climbed..the rotor spins, but ts uncontrollable..out of all 4 , none of them fly now..must be some sort of defect.

They are notorious for the small motors on the tail rotor getting gummed up and failing to produce enough torque. That's why a lot of the new choppers do away with the tail rotor completely and use a dual blades on top.
