Well, I hate for this to be one of my first posts here, but I had to warn others against getting anything from Shadow Dale Creations. I ordered a Horn of Gondor back in March of 2007, and have yet to get anything for it. All I want is my money back and of course as soon as you mention wanting your money back from them they stop talking to you. I know a lot of people have gotten results from the RPF and I'm hoping I can also be one of those people as well.

I can't believe that they have not been banned already.

They made cool stuff sure, but, nobody ever get it.

On the LOH it's the same as everywhere else.

Because what they do is wait for someone to make a public stink about them then they reply with the usual excuses and refund the money or send the item.
The customer then on the whole will forget about the problems because they have their stuff or money now so they're satisfied, customers satisfied so the mods are until the next thread like this.

It's a Catch-22: ban them early and folks are sure not to get refunds; ban later, and some folks might get refunds but the dealer has little incentive to make things right if he knows he's going to be banned anyway. So we give them a chance to turn over a new leaf and prevent the ban. It never, if ever, works, but it's worth a shot.

Shadow Duchess and GeneralMayhem are now banned.

Sadly, in this hobby you will run into these characters more often than not. Seems to attract the unscrupulous. Though, just be mindful, ask around before buying into their sales talk and things will run less bumpy, but you cannot safeguard you from getting burned.

That's the thing...the original commissioner of the first horn got his so I felt safe dealing with them. And they seemed so friendly in their emails. It's just really sad.

From what I have reac of their postings and dealings, they have always started off friendly. The problem with them is they dig themselves a hole, can't ever dig out of it and then customers get stuck in the lurch. The thing we need to do, especially with some of the sellers here, is an in hand list. I have XX number of XX in hand looking to sell.

The problem is, this screws over a lot of the legit sellers who sometimes request payment in advance, like Rylo, Russrep and the like. They are reputable to deal with, but end up paying the price for a few jerkoffs.

They have recast or done some poor things/copies regarding other peoples original ideas too.

It's a fine line, Jay you are never more right. Been there and done that on the TPZ as well. You are damn if you do and damned if you don't.

On another forum I visit, someone that bought the same item I did, the month AFTER me, just got his horn this past week. I'm glad they delivered for him, but he didn't even have a clue it was coming either. He could have moved in that long of a time span & they don't even contact you to make sure you still live where you did when you paid for the item.
Ugh! I just wish they'd acknowledge you for crying out loud instead of ignoring a customer that they owe something to.

And when was the last time we saw Bill? IIRC Bill made standard sized starfleet shirts that he sold at cons. The problem seems to be with custom costuming in custom sizes. I only know of ONE costumer out there (and she doesnt advertise here) who consistently delivers quality on schedule and thats Suz Mianowski of qidar.com. The rest started out OK then promptly got behind and never recovered. Suz has a greta work ethic and uses a special computer program to cut her patterns. She inputs the measurements sent to her, teh como cuts teh pattern and she goes to work.

Last year for me!

Bill had every size in every color and if he did'nt you could get them Mail-order.

StarFleet Uniforms ran for 21 or 22 years.

Needless to say he had one of the, best, if not the best, track record out there!
