Working on this with Fabian and IrishCowboy... :)

We've got some ideas for how to tackle her saber (although there's no way I'm risking my sanity by trying to make it spin like in the show, lol).

Anyway, here's the WIP on her chest, back, and gauntlets so far:

You could totally use a radial bearing from a lazy susan, add a gear to the outside and put a small drive motor in the handle. Just sayin.

I don't wanna be known as the guy who built a death-machine for some 20-something who brought it to a con and took out some kid's eye during a demonstration, lol. People are sue-happy these days!

Good call! You could just keep it on a free floating rail and just let gravity create a spinning motion by flicking your wrist. Sure, it wouldn't be fast, but it would still work . Then just have a lock in the handle that keeps it steady.
