This new Zica/Giant Leap Toys "updating" of the Mattel Eagle Playset looks utterly fabulous. There's a limited edition version coming out first but the standard edition will hopefully be more affordable

The new one is 36 inches long, and corrects many of the Mattel's frustrating defects like the filled in cages and bulbous command module.

Time for the yearly re-watch... Thanks for the heads-up on the 36" Eagle, I had no idea that was coming. Although I should probably build the 22" MPC Eagle that I bought over a year ago first.

I have ZERO idea what this thread is about... I even googled John Koenig from a quote... Moonbase Alpha? 1999 what?

This thread feels like when I'm watching a show or movie with a fake Sci-Fi show that one of the characters is super into.

The most important thing to know is it's why the Millenium Falcon is a saucer and not looking like the original drawings like the blockade runner.

Mandela effect.

These aren't the episodes you're looking for.

You can go about your business.

I got into a conversation about this show with some stranger at a bar and they said, "The less said about this show, the better!" Why?! This show--the first series, at least--is pretty decent sci-fi. It's well shot, some good performances, and some decent stories; maybe just a tad dated with all the muted colors of the 70's and costumes, but this show was a continuation of the 2001 aesthetic morphing into what would be the iconic look of STAR WARS, Alien, and all succeeding future sci-fi. At times a little cornball, this show was that odd nexus of what was shortly to come and the traditional past. It's easily one of the most unique and overlooked pieces of media out there.

It got pretty wacky in the second season, sure, and some of the plot lines were clearly the result of drug consumption, but there were some great episodes. The production design was brilliant. The Eagle was an inspired design as well, executed by genius model builders. There is a lot to enjoy.
