Sentinel Cosplay WIP.

Okay, well I'm gonna start off by saying this is my first time posting on this site, so i'm not all that entirely sure what i'm doing.
This is also the first time I have documented something like this, and only the fourth full costume I've ever worked on.
(one of which I gave up on and the other was not for me.)

Anyway enough explanations lets get started.
In anticipation of the next installment of the x-men film franchise, I have decided to make a costume based loosely on the design for the Sentinel from the "Days of Future Past" comics.

I have started off by building the helmet, which as of now is still in the early stages. I'm making it out of an old Halloween football helmet that I bought a few years back for a "Doom Marine" cosplay, and EVA foam, both the kind used in those interlocking foam mats and some foamies that I have left over from the robot legs I made for my friends cosplay.

Okay so I started by hot gluing a band of foam on top of the helmet, pretty simple and it's not really needed for me to explain but I did didn't I.

OH YEAH! I completely forgot to mention the gimmicky part, I want to have a small wolverine tearing into my head.

Now the rest of these... I don't think I need to explain, the picture do a better job then I ever could. All you need to know is that the blue is craft foam, and the black is the foam mat.

And this Is just me trying to figure out how i'm gonna place the mouth, it's not the final piece but I wanted to get an idea of what it would look like.

I HAVE REALIZED THAT SOME OF THE IMAGES ARE NOT DISPLAYING CORRECTLY, SADLY I DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS
SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

Love your idea of using the football helmet as a base. Will be watching.

Not much to say, just wanted to get this up. One thing I want to point out is the small bar like things that are all over the battle damaged areas of the face, I thought it would look cool if it looked like the sentinel head was made from a metal plated frame instead of just a thick sheets of metal. I made the little bar things from these cross stitching things that I got at the local dollar tree. I used the same cross stitching sheet things behind the mouth.

AND FINALLY, after what felt like a 7 year hiatus, I have come back to continue work on my Sentinel Helmet. I've been putting it off for the last bit simply because I just haven't had the drive to do it. when I don't actually want to be working on something, or if I'm just not having fun doing it, I find that I tend to take lazy shortcuts and make horrendous mistakes, this is why I only go at it things like this for a few hours at a time and take breaks. ANYWAY I'm sure you guys are absolutely enthralled by my riveting and somewhat excessive excuses, but it's time to actually show some progress pics.

For some reason it isn't displaying the images right but I really have no idea how to fix that.

ALSO THE PICTURES ARE ALL IN THE WRONG ORer! so just go through them from 9-1

I think this is really cool and hope you finish it. I really like the overall shape of it, it's perfect, and I'm digging all the battle damage you are adding in as you go. Keep it up man, I'm sure we'd all love to see this.
