Senate Guard Helmet Build

You'll have to do like the Royal Gaurd costumer at Celebration 2 told me....

"Hey man, so how exactly did you contour the fin?"

"Magic."

:rolleyes

The common mistake in making these is to work from Royal Guard specs: As you can see, there is a huge difference in the shoulder coverage. It's slimmer, less curved and has a wider spire at the throat. Korbanth's are close, just need the neck adjustment.

very true about needing to make it from scratch, and not modify an existing Red guard. and also very correct about casting the spine separately so I can also provide a notched spike that you can put a plume into for an EP1/EP2 version. Here is the photo of the group 501st pic at C3 and I am the blue guard in he second row...

Latest update…

Pretty happy so far though not looking forward to getting it symmetrical!

Thanks for the continued reference – it all helps. Also nice to note that the original seems to have its own few flaws :)

Cool group photo btw

Looks great! I look forward to trying one on, if it fits... ive got a big head :)

Nice progress. Do not forget to bring your finished costume over to the RL since currently we are the only group that is accepting the Blue Senate Guards. Us senators need all the protection we can get ;)

Ha ha ha! Besides the emperor it seems YOU are the only unique character in this pic! :lol
At least you are 100% able to determine which of all these people is you!

What would you say is the best color for this helmet? It seems a bit more purple than royal blue. It's so hard to tell with these photos. They're all different.

When the exhibition was in Spain I went with a RAL chart and I toke the colours.

The color of the helmet is Cobal Blue (RAL 5013).

Maybe you don't trust me but the flashes wash the colour a lot, I promise you it's the most accurate colour I saw with a RAL chart on hand and the costume next to me.

I believe you. I checked the RAL color and it is indeed darker than royal blue. Of course, I'm going by a screen image which can vary as much as a photograph.

Whichever blue is chosen, it would probably be best to try and match it to the costume's fabric as closely as possibly.

Well, the colour of the gabric is a RAL 5007. You must know that it's a gloss fabric so the colour changes with the light.

And of course, this is for the guards of the exhibitions (Episode III if I'm not wrong). I think that the colours of these are brighter than the ones from Episode I, but I'm not sure.
