Seller Cavedweller72 on ebay

I don't know if this is the right place to post but alot of his stuff looks to be "recast" of paper props found here.

Can you be more specific? I see paper props he is selling that are *not* found in this forum, so there remains the possibility he creates his own.

There are a lot of sellers on ebay that sell paper props. As paper props are (generally) fairly easy to make and all are replicating the same screen used items I'm against labeling anyone as a recaster unless there is proof that they are using files that they didn't create. That said there are a lot of people on ebay recasting paper props!

So in that mindset... Are there specific items that look suspicious? Should be fairly easy to tell if they're files from here.

Specifically The national treasure stuff. I am pretty sure that both the Ben Gates pic and Booth page are from here.

I looked them over and checked previous threads... and any of those items posted here look different than the ones they post. So I am not sure any of their stuff is a rip off from here.

The Titanic Rose Scetch could be from here, and MurdocXXL released a PDF with the Booth Page, but no idea if this seller used this file...

Ture, but the Rose sketch is on sale all over Ebay. They could have bought it and copied anyone's. Calling recaster on paper stuff is hard.

I have to agree with the others; you should get your facts straight before you start labeling people as "recasters" or "copiers". This "cavedweller72" person you're speaking about is me. I am personally insulted by your remarks and by the lack of your intelligence.:angry You should first do your research before making implications about myself or anyone else you might have in question. As for the items I sell on other sites; I am a previous art student and I do have the ability of "drawing, sketching and painting"; I also sculpt, carve and do clay pottery...also to add to the list, I am computer literate so the use of photoshop and other programs comes easily to me, which means the pieces I sell have been personally done by myself or by my art club associates and used with permission by them. If anything I sell looks to be a "scan" or "printout" of something is because it probably is; it's easier to produce these works in mass quantities by printouts...art galleries do the same incase you didn't know. However, my personal "hand drawn work" is also sold but only by request. I'm not intentionally implying anyone is coping my work here or anywhere else but have you ever stopped to think that maybe, just maybe some of the paper props you've previously seen just might possibly be copies of my work...did you ever stop to think about that?! :confused Anything that I sell anywhere and is not my work bears the credit to the original artist; so the next time you're browsing those other sites and you see my stuff just don't buy it...it's that simple. Any further remarks, questions or concerns you may have about me or my artistic abilities can be directed towards me; sound good to you? :confused

Thank you Moviefreak for doing you research; I appreciate it! :)

You are sooo wrong:lol; the Ben Gates police file photo and the reverse sided Booth page were done by me...Photoshop comes in handy

Thank goodness for the search button. I was about to give a heads up about the Medal of Honour Certificate.

Good luck with the sale :) :thumbsup

Thanks Alan; yes from time to time I buy things and then later decide I have to clear things out :wacko. I live in a small apartment so every so often it seems I have less and less space and I need to clean house and sell off some stuff. I'm sorry to let it go but it's just my paper props and smaller pieces I'm having my son clear out for me on ebay while I'm out on reserve duty...he's not familiar with this site. Tee if you read this...sorry to sell off that piece bud, but I needed to make room on my wall for my kiddo's photos and awards.
