Sculpture 101

OK guys, I think this is a good place to start, maybe something easy and hopefully cheap. I don't have anything specific in mind but what would I need to do a basic sculpture? Are there any guides or walkthroughs that I can look at?

All you need is a block of clay. Dive straight in, and learn as you go.
