Screen Used Prop Lightsabers

I was surfing around and found pictures from exhibits and events which had static lightsaber props mounted under glass

I'm not sure the story behind these, are they actual beaters they used while filming?

Also, has anyone tried re-creating these? they are not exact to the hero versions (especially Obi Wan's) and look much easier to re-create out of affordable hardware?
