In the Beginning, there was the Type III from "Where No Man Has Gone Before"
And that was it for Star Trek rifles, until TNG introduced their own "Type III"
They went NUTS with First Contact, and introduced THREE new rifle designs; here's the one that appears only in the EVA (spacewalk) scene....
Here's the "smooth nosed" FC rifle, which everybody likes (it turned up in all the subsequent films and in Voyager)
And here's the "type B" FC rifle, which only seems to appear by accident in a few scenes in the film.
Another little-seen rifle is this "Isomagnetic Disintegrator" thing that Worf uses in "Star Trek Insurrection"... everybody forgets about that movie and the rifle too I guess. :lol
And then there's the enigmatic Compression Phaser Rifle which only appeared on Voyager
And as a footnote there's this "TR-116" thing which only appears in one episode of DS9.
And if you count "Star Trek Enterprise", there are a couple of rifles there too...
The Enterprise security men use this "Class 3 plasma rifle", which is actually a repaint of an alien weapon that had been used on earlier series.
And later the MACO troops use a new rifle based off of the EM-33 pulse pistol, but I don't have any grabs of it. Yes, that's how little attention I was paying to "Enterprise." :lol
