Hello everyone.

Longtime lurker, first time poster and I figured I would dive right in with my most recent build, a pair of Tusken Raiders for me and my fiance.

First things first, the head.
we first scratch made a base using a balloon and paper mache. Then we built up the features with cardboard, then covered the whole thing with another couple of layers of paper mache.

We made the belts out of the following:
1/8 inch craft foam
Faux leather vinyl from Joans
Belts from the 99 cent store and a pack of brads from Walmart

Using the leftover vinyl and a couple more belts from the 99 cent store i wrapped the snout and face of the masks...

Next i had to find spmething to use for the "bloodspitters" . I wanted to keep costs down so i originally planned on scratch building those too. But then i came across these at dollar tree.
(not these exact ones but something very similar)

I painted them silver and slapped them on.

For the eyes we covered some 99 cent store shot glasses with paper mache and i dremelled out the slits. And for the horns i used the bottoms of some party horns.

We found a table cloth at the local thrift store that had a good texture as well as good close color so we used that to wrap the masks...

These look great! Reminds me of a costume I made as a kid except these are on a MUCH more accurate scale. Might have to revisit a tusken costume....
