Scratch Built Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1 FINISHED.

Re: Scratch Built Red Bull Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1

What an academic thread! Lot of technical and astrophysics language I've never heard of. Before I shut up my self in a work shack, I want to declare one thing. That engine must be made by YAMAHA. :love

Gag-san, You must have tons of futurelistic blue prints stored in your brain.
What kind of foods did your mother feed you when you were a kid? :confused

Re: Scratch Built Red Bull Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1

I love that Retro Encabulator video. (Katsu-san, that entire thing is complete gibberish. Nonsense. Techno-babble.) :)

Thursday night i started the socket for the Emergency line. First i had to design another actuator system that i had forgotten about. Finished all this today

If this turns into a robot suddenly, I am never surprised.:love

Re: Scratch Built Red Bull Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1

Considering all the funding into research and space stuff Red Bull does I wouldn't be surprised if they build something like this in the future.

Re: Scratch Built Red Bull Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1

With all these great design details for the ship itself, I know you MUST have a drawing of what the freight car will look like... any chance of a sneak peak?!? I keep meaning to ask about it, but then I see what you have done, and my mind goes blank! :)

Re: Scratch Built Red Bull Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1

Morning Folks,
Very nice of you all to comment, i really appreciate it.
Not much doing just a quick coat of primer for the Emergency line socket.

Primer for some other small detail pieces.

Picture%2520072.jpg

Then it was on to fixing the skins on to the top surface of the wings, very time consuming to get a good fit for all the sepatate pieces.

Picture%2520079.jpg

Picture%2520080.jpg

Picture%2520082.jpg

Then the side of the body.

Picture%2520106.jpg

Then i moved on to the front winglets

Picture%2520113.jpg

This is the complete story so far.

I think i will be skinning the underside next, and adding a few more details.
Thanks for looking.

Stay tuned

Re: Scratch Built Red Bull Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1

Morning Everyone,

Thanks for your comments, very much appreciated.

This week i've only been skinning, like i said before very time consuming because I first have to establish how I want the panelling to look, this is constantly changing and evolving as i go from section to section until the pieces look right together. You have to fit each piece, one at a time.
First I make a cardboard template to get the basic shape then cut it out of 0.020"(1/2mm) sheet then I sand and chamfer the edges until it fits. I then glue the panel in position and hold it fimly in place with masking tape.
Tried to keep it simple stupid, on the design. I may scribe some additional details later, I will have to see how it looks when everything is in place.

I made a small cowling to go around the central support, also made a tube so i can block this hole if required.
Used my trusty Vodka bottle pouring spouts

Re: Scratch Built Red Bull Delivery Ship 3011AD, The Nylon Gag MK.1

It's looking really cool! I love the shot with your hand in it... It's always easy to forget how big/small the model is when there is no scale reference. SUPER-cool, Gagster! :)
