Scarecrow Straight Jacket:

So I set out to build a scarecrow straightjacket just for fun based off of the one he wears when he escapes Arkham Asylum at end of Batman Begins. I went the cheapest route possible for this. All materials were under 40 dollars. I bought a used trenchcoat at goodwill for $15 dollars, 8 military slide belts in brown for 99 cents each, 2 grenade pouches for $1.99 each. And a bunch of grommets and rivets for about $15 dollars. Here is my progress so far. Still need to weather this up alot and tatter and tear the fabric in numerous areas. I removed many parts of the trenchcoat and repositioned the straps and buckles. I would love some feedback as this is my first attempt at ever doing this. I am planning to wear it for Halloween along with THS studios scarecrow mask. Please give me some suggestions or feedback:

Thanks for looking :)!!!

Its not really accurate at all... but as long as it resembles a straight jacket I'm cool with that...:)

I am currently waiting on Tyler's Scarecrow mask to arrive next week so in the mean time wanted to see how this would look with a head. The coat is postioned onto a microphone stand. The head is a latex skin I created months back with a glass eye put in place. Lastly I wrapped burlap around the head and added cloth. This gives me a good idea of how my costume will look, except Tyler's mask is 100 times better :lol

This is still a work in progress as I'm going to get a noose to put around the neck and need to pick up and weather some black slacks from Goodwill still.

I do not believe at the scene in the end of the movie he is still wearing his suit, jacket and tie but not sure can anyone confirm this underneath the jacket.

Sorry for the bad picks its just me in the bathroom mirror until my girlfriend gets home to shoot some better pictures of me.

I am open to suggestions and criticisms as I want to make this an awesome costume.

Does this help for future reference? Yours came out great. Never thought of using an overcoat for the base. Great thinking outside of the box.

These were taken at comic-con. I didn't take the photos but they were available here not too long ago. Whoever took the photos did a great job and give them the credit for it.
