Saturn 3

I only have the VHS of the movie, if any one here has the DVD, could you please post some clear screen caps of the explosive devises, and the hand held trigger/detonator, Adam (kirk) hides under his vest, to blow up Hector, towards the end of the movie? It would also be nice to have some of hectors brain, and "blues", but I would just be happy if I can get some of the explosive devises.

I would like to have some props from this movie, and the explosive devises might be a nice kind of easy project to take on a bit done the road if I ever get cought up on projects.

I just rewatched this movie to day, and I still dont' know way everyone calls it such a bomb. I love this movie. I think it's ever bit as good, or better then the first alien movie, and the alien movie, gets all kind of attention, and figures, replicas, and what not, and this movie just gets picked on. I really don't get it, but "to each their own". (though if not for that movie, we may never have had the "Abroller". :lol)

The effects and props were pretty cheesy. A chain ladder on that spaceship? Really? I still like it though. Especially the soundtrack.

I found Hectors brain on Yourprops

You gotta love Saturn 3. It has the right amount of cheeziness to make it great. I grew up in the eighties and it was one of my favorite video store rentals. Hector always freaked me out a bit. I vaguely remember his scanning sound so that gives me some incentive to seek out the DVD and view it again as an adult. I really cannot fathom how I do not own this movie. Mega sci-fi fan fail.

I have a chain later in a box, in my closet. I guess that means I'm a space man. :lol

I'll admit some of the space shots, fly buys, and stuff are pretty bad, even for the time. but I love the rest of the look of the move. I love the costumes, ever bit of the base, the space suits, and even the ship Hector comes on.

A lot of articles I find about the movie, call it derivative. That makes me laugh, seeing how ever movie from the last 30 or 40 years or so are . all the Star Wars films, and Avatar, are some of the most derivative movies I have ever seen. everyone I watch any of them with, sets there and says , that is such a rip of this, or that, all the way through the films.

This film lost it's original director, and had it's production cut short. plus there was a ton of scenes cut from the theatrical release (in 1980), and at least the VHS version, if not the much later to be release DVD. Those scenes were added back in for the 1984 BBC broadcast of the movie, and it made a lot more since. (although I think it makes plenty the way it is, I would love to see those scenes.)

Plus there were even a few more scenes that the producer that were to gory, that were cut, and lost to the ages.

I love the most of the film just the way it is, so I really don't want to see it remade. However, what I would really, REALLY, love to see, is for them to go back, clean up the print, redo all the visual effects (planets, ships, etc. pretty much all the stuff in space. leave all the sets, and costumes, and hector alone.) And re-release it one DVD. They did that for Star Trek the motion picture, and it was great. I HATED Star Trek the motion picture, since I was a little kid, but a few years ago, I checked out what they did with it on DVD, and I loved it. (still super cheesy and all, but it looks so much better)

FREAKY. I am watching that movie right now. Then this thread came up...no really RIGHT NOW on VeeHD. Now I should go take a blue dreamer and crash.

I managed to get these off the DVD, not very clear but gets most of the details. Will try & get some pics of the belt bomb thing.
