Satine Kryze : Star Wars Clone Wars

I was actually thinking to attach the tights to the boot at the seam edge of the sole - so the ankle boot would be covered. I don't know how realistic that is unless the tights were really strong and thick, but in my imagination it works. :lol

How do female figure skaters do it? The last skating show I saw, one of the skaters was on the ice and needed to adjust her lace on one skate. She pulled the tight up, away from the boot, adjusted the lace, and then pulled the tight back down over the boot. It was so fast, I wonder if they use Velcro.

Hey! That's a great idea, I'll try to figure out how to get a hold of those kind of tights. Thanks!! :D

Seems to be plenty in nude tones, but no selection of colors. There are skate covers, which might work, if I found tights to match. Hmm.... I don't think Nylon can be dyed, can it?

Rather than tights, perhaps getting a jumbo spandex and sewing them into Leggings that you can attach to the boots? I see where you're going with the tights, but I would think that those wouldn't be heavy enough.

It looks like she has something going on at her ankle. What is that?

wookie gunner, thanks for that!!

I don't know what she has going on except maybe some design issue where it's supposed to look like a wrinkle? This style of animation comes up with really strange anatomy sometimes. :lol

Here is what the over the skate tights look like:

if I wore ankle boots with over the skate tights, and then nickers that came down above the knee, it might look okay.

I like the spandex idea, but getting them to go over the boot like this would likely be tricky.

It might just be that I'll need to get some sort of shoe where I can sew on the 'boot' in whatever fabric I find that works and put in a zipper in the back...

Yeah. It shouldn't be too difficult, especially for you, to cover a boot. And a stretchy fabric will be forgiving and easy to get around all the curves.

But wait! New ep tonite! Might find a costume you like even better. Besides, I'm thinking that the story arc with the pacifist queen is pushing toward the "sometimes its okay to fight back" theme. So I think we're going to see her take up armor against the moon Mandos before its all over.

I might actually watch it before the kids this time! Usually I put them to bed and they watch it before I get up. I then catch it with them on one of their second or third viewings...

I was just at the sock store at the mall and they have a huge selection of over the knee socks and tights. None quite the right color or texture, but it gave me hope that there will be something available to work with. :)

I don't mind the formal gown so much without the headdress.

Lovin' the romantic connection with Obi-wan. :love

I loved the dialog between them...

What was the quote? I trust you've met the collection of hyperbole and half truths that is Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Oh man, yes, that was beautiful, and accurate. :lol

He would have left the Jedi Order for her and he has remorse that he didn't? That's intense... Can't wait for the next episode.

I doubt now that we will see any armor... not after the way she was buying that 'who wants to kill me and be a cold blooded killer' nonsense from the terrorist with the bomb. :rolleyes Pacifists.

Yeah.. I'm afraid you're right. Anakin saved a tense scene that could have culminated in such with a well time lightsaber through the chest. Cartoons never did that when I was a kid.

Speaking of Ani. I was personally tickled by his constant ribbing of Obi-wan. You go help your "girlfriend."

Those are fantastic! Lots of detail... On the next episode, can you get at least one good one of her without the headdress on?

Thanks so much. :D :love

Guess I'm in on the formal gown now... spent $40 on supplies at the craft store today. Gah! I forgot how expensive this hobby was! I'm going to keep track this time and make sure I know exactly where the $$ is coming from in the budget. I tend to go crazy and that's one reason I had to stop years ago...

Okay, so here's what I have so far, the flowers and the broach. I used q-tips painted with metallic blue topaz and metallic pearl white. I bought silk flowers and cut the petals off, gluing them in the right shape with fabric glue. I used white floral wire to harness the flowers on to a clear, plastic headband.

I also bought some blue shell beads for the broach and head piece - but... I think from the photos the one on her head (and the shell shaped things dangling over her ears) look more like opal. I have gem stone earrings and necklace, blue ammonite, maybe, that looks similar, but I doubt I'd be able to get either this big.

Here's a photo of what I have so far...
