Limited Run RUN CLOSED * DL-44 ESB Blaster Machined Parts Set * RUN CLOSED

I know that I am late to the party but is Bobba Debt going to make another ESB run soon or a source for some good ESB parts. I am in the process of building a ANH DL-44. I have been waiting for the last part for it for a while. While twiddling my fingers in anticipation of completion I have been looking at an ESB DL-44 build. I think I have caught the bug now! I found some good looking stuff on ebay by Evolution Props. Does anyone have any experience with their stuff or have any suggestions in general? Thanks

boba debt or bust! he's the best!

If you aren't set on the ESB, there is the ROTJ run to still get in on. http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=262086

I feel like after this run, it will be a while before Boba does the ESB version again. Such a big project run to complete. Keep checking the Junkyard just in case someone decides to sell theirs, I know a few people have.

My parts arrived today!

Wow, they look amazing, the brass scope is a thing of beauty.

Thanks for all the hard work Boba Debt,

-John

Quick paint up and weathering

I'm back, I have been offline since Saturday night because we lost power during the hurricane and this may only be temporary restoration.

I just installed a piston unit on a blaster kit for a member and discovered a small issue

The holes in the pistons may not be perfectly lined up with the holes drilled into the Mauser

This is probably due to casting imperfections

My solution is as follows

Mount the piston unit with the screws to determine the way that they look the most correct, for instance in this case I had the turn the piston unit 180 degrees to get it to line up better.

Then use the screw that looks the most correct as the primary screw. In my case the lower screw positioned the piston unit correctly, the top screw shifted the unit to far forward.

The use glue and the screw to secure the unit. Once the glue has cure upsize the other hole with a drill until the screw does not sit offset in the piston unit hole. It may be necessary to use glue to secure the second screw.

I hope that make sense

looks great! do your grips slide around a bit? Denixes seem to do that

Thanks! Actually the grips on this one are pretty snug, though they do slide around on my ROTJ from Boba's last run. I'll have to try adding a bit of glue as mentioned above

Wicked! What paint did you use for the Denix, and did you paint boba' scope bracket or did you just weather the anodize? It looks awesome!

I left the Denix as is and just added a bit of Rustoleum flat protective enamel to the machined areas.. it blends pretty nicely. I did use this to paint the whole Denix for my ROTJ though and I think it worked pretty well, though that may have been satin, I'm not sure.

I just weathered the bracket as it too. I kind of like the mis-matched shades of black

thanks for explaining! yes i too want to mismatch the colors. i couldn't tell if that was the same finish on the bracket or not, looks freak'n awesome!

I fixed my ROTJ Denix grips from sliding around by removing them and filing down the piece in the center that has the screw hole. It's too tall so the grips can't get good contact around the edges to stay in place, it will pivot on that center no matter how tight you screw it until it's shortened.

This will not work on grips modified with the brass hardware.

It will allow you to pull the cup into the grip, below being flush with the outer surface of the grip.

I epoxied the brass escutcheons in place because they pull towards the frame and can slip through. I had some small springs around and placed one in the middle to tension the grips. It worked pretty decently.

This thing is a beauty, also a monstrous beast. If I didn't have a commission deadline for a friend, I would already be working on assembling this for my holster. Thank you, Boba Debt. Pretty much half the reason why I signed up for the RPF.

does anyone know if the scope rings are removable? i was looking at mine last night i didn't want to try and pry them out if they were glued in. its not a big deal i can always tape the glass and ring when i go to paint the scope. i was just going to give the rings and light socket a ammonia vapor bath
