@The9791, I didn't even think of using a file. I sanded, and sanded, and sanded and sanded and sanded lol. But it's good now :lol.

I also started the makeover for my Bespin blaster and started by removing the inaccurate greeblies and stripping paint.

Danny congrats on the blaster, I felt the same way the first time I held one. Im guessing an ESB weighs between 3 and 4 lbs, just feels awesome to hold.

need some advice guys, i am sanding my barrel as we speak. is there any official measurement for how far the barrel should slide down?

i know there's that one pic of han leia and luke at the eco base where u can see the barrel inside the flash hider. here's what i got so far

seems like i got .210 showing inside the flash hider

any one have any advice? this is my first DL-44 build

I believe it's somewhere between halfway and 3/4 through but doesn't sit flush with the flash hider.

There were a few pics of it in the discussion thread and I had brought up the previous thought of it being flush but other pics proved it wasn't.

going by my picture it looks like i'm half way exposed in the flash hider. is that a good thing?

halliwax yea, looks like you're good. The barrel should protrude through the flash hinder about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through. I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. You don't want the barrel to sit flush with the edge of the flash hider, from either end.

That has been debated a lot in the past, some say flush , others say 3/4 or 1/2



Which is why I updated the cliché about beauty - Accuracy is in the eye of the builder




I personally grind it so it is flush then the member can adjust the final placement with electrical tape or hot glue, or even epoxy.


If you remove too much material you can also use any of the above methods to fix it.

thanks guys, do u believe the police showed up at my house.... the neighbor who lives behind me has a problem with substances... well she called the cops because she saw a man in my back yard playing with a gun... unbelievable....

thankfully they showed up while i was inside and the DL-44 was on the back of the trailer... i could only imagine how this would have went if i was walking in the yard with it....

its very quite embarrassing as my parents are politically tied to the town.. the call went over the radio, a friend of mine called me while they were here asking whats up... unreal....

That's crazy man! Some people just don't know how to mind their own business + too many scared of their own shadows + politics and agendas = unhealthy paranoia. Glad it all worked out in the end.

My Bespin barrel is flush with the end of the flash hider, I may adjust it a bit this time around when I update it(not sure yet), but the Hoth won't. I've got mine at just past half.

I took this ESB - Bespin screen shot of Luke and his stunt blaster looks like a Han ROTJ version. Funny! I never noticed this before.
