Limited Run RUN CLOSED * DL-44 ESB Blaster Machined Parts Set * RUN CLOSED

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

Hmm… Guess that depends on what Mauser you are referring to, perhaps a Denix? I'm planning on a real Mauser just for this project. You certainly can use silver solder on them and I believe there are silver solders or brazing sticks designed specifically to work on the potmetal like make up of the reproductions. These are often used in automotive restorations on old cast parts that break or crack.

That's fine, I just thought I'd bring it up since it would be minimal materials to add to larger casting runs, so to do them at the same time would have been ideal. Just asking since I believe I read a few folks who were planning on live fire versions. Having parts that were on more securely would be more ideal to hold up to solvents, oils, temperatures and jarring or bucking of recoil.

I think the side details are not present on the live fire versions, they probably fell off for the reasons you mentioned

The plaques and side details look great!

Will you do a plaque for the Luke blasters as well?

Why wouldn't the plaque work for either?

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

The plaques say Han on them. Doing both wouldn't be a problem for me. It is up to you.

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

Yeah, I just meant the same design but with Luke instead of Han. Thanks!

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

Alright I've been mulling this over for a while. We kind of backed ourselves into a corner with last year's plaque. Since the Vintage SW logos aren't consistent, it is difficult to keep a consistent look with the plaques. Here is last year's for reference:

There is no ESB logo like that. Trying to fake it looks stupid:

Using the ESB logos out there we have the following options:

Anybody have any ideas?

I always thought this was the best looking of the "Empire" logos:

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

I tried that logo and unfortunately it doesn't leave us with much space due to the shape.

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

How about this version? It's angled forward but not slanted so it takes up less space:

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

There's also the unique vintage Kenner logo:

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

I have returned Chris’s M-19 scope and I shipped my M-19 to David Meyer for casting.

I will spend the next couple days getting everything ready to go to my machine shop for coding and pricing.

David Meyer should know his costs by the time I have the cost ranges for the machined parts and the machine work need for the scope, so in about 2 weeks we will be ready for the initial confirmation email.

In that email I will ask everyone to select what parts they want to order.

Based on my current requests I will give the prices for a 30 part range such as 50 / 60 / 70 Flash Hiders, etc

You will not know the final cost of the part because it will depend on the how many people commit to their order.

Once I have everyone's orders I will be able to set the final prices and ask everyone for the final confirmation, which is just basically a “I’m in” reply

As long as most people stick to their orders I should be able to send out the invoices, if any part drops below my listed numbers I will have to start the process over with the costs from the lower ranges.

For instance, if only 35 people respond that they want a flash hider I will have to send out the price range for 20 / 30 / 40 Flash Hiders.

We have 80+ people in this group so I am expecting a good turn out so the costs should be in to 60 part price range.

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

That would be great if it isn't too much of a bother! I do think that logo would look good with what we are trying to do.

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

I started to get the prints together for my shop and realized they needed a lot tweaking so I spent most of my off time last week on them.

They will be done and ready to ship by Monday.

i have read this entire thread, and the one in the star wars section. i was under the impression you are going to make the "live fire" and "stunt" i just wanted to confirm you are still going to make the "live fire" knurled knob.

in your first post i believe you have it as the scope bracket nut. if i want the knurled knob, then i would say i want a "bespin" scope bracket nut right?
