These look sweet. I bought a bare-bones one from Roman - I'm hoping I can pull of weathering as nicely as these.

*btw, Roman, Even pre weathering it's awesome. I have other replicas that look nice on display, but with yours I wanted to go cut the arms off walrus-looking dudes as they harass my friends. It's bad-ass. Can't recommend enough.

Got mine in the mail today. Wow! This saber is so beautiful, and very heavy. Compare to the MR version (which I used to own), this is way better! The plaque looks great as well. Great job!

When I got home i went straight for it. This is a freaking lightsaber. Absolute quality. I let my five year old hold it and she said it was much cooler than all our other lightsabers.

The design was Roman's idea. I just put it together and pressed them. It was actually this saber that inspired my weathered plaque designs and you better believe I'm gonna make a special one for mine.

Wow , I am very impressed. All the parts are machined just like the original parts. Even the threads on internal surfaces that you don't even see. Looks like i could remove the booster part and screw it into an M2. Absolutely stunning attention to detail. I was regretting selling my real balance pipe and handwheel but can say I am not anymore. Unless you have to have an actual real part Obi saber this is as good as It gets. Weathering is spot on too. Thanks a bunch Roman. This came out fantastic bud !!!

I have owned every version of the Obi-Wan saber made and this one is the best hands down.
If time and fate allows, I am definitely looking down the road at a weathered one for my collection.

Can anyone tell me the differences between Romans and the MR version ,obviously Romans is superior and also from a lot of members selling there MR versions to pick up Romans.I know the MR is not very accurate but I don't know the differences.

I wouldn't say "not very". It deserves a little better. I would say the big thing is the emitter. Back then the origins of the part was unknown so replicating was based on images and screen caps. Therefore small details and dimensions suffered.

I think another difference is the version. The MR was based off a version (seen in the Chrinocles in b&w images) that had crimping at the bottom of the emitter to attach to the grenade. There I'd also a jump ring at the bottom of the clamp. I also think the MR has the missing washer. Also, the weathering is different especially on the clamp to match that version.

MR did a pretty nice job on the saber, one of the best due to the fact they had the most information at the time of production of any other run of this saber. MJF summed it up well.
MR's bottom sink pommel was flatter on the end and more squared up. The joint between the sink handle and the flash suppressor booster section were flushed/tighter on the MR piece. MR's grenade piece had some small details wrong just because they did not know better at the time but considering, it was really well made.
Roman was able to copy the exact originating parts, it just makes for a sharper piece. The quality of materials is slightly better as well.
Master Replicas was a licensed piece, ( a solid market value fan made pieces do not have) it will always carry a strong collectors value on the secondary market and is a beautiful saber in itself.

In the top picture of the original saber above, you can see the Graflex imprint, so yes. Most poele copying parts do not do so as it takes away from the "sci-fi reality feel". I think MR more on the copyright issues at the time of production even though Graflex has long been out of business and there is no one to enforce such as far as anyone knows. I have spoken to a few copyright lawyers on this and if there was someone, given the re purposed use, it may be hard to pursue if the holder were to try.

That's perfection, what a great pic. I've owned ALOT of OWK ANH sabers through the years from Parks, SD studios, ICONS, MR to ones I put together from parts of various makers even the brass cast grenades back in the day and this is the best one I've ever seen only second to the real parts, Great job Roman!
