Rubies Leatherface Chainsaw

Halloween stores sell them under different names - horror saw, nightmare chainsaw, etc. The whole thing is only two inches thick (if that), it comes on a piece of cardboard, no moving parts, doesn't even look like a saw, and the ones I've heard sound stupid. For little kids and people that don't any better, they're worth the $5

people here being negative about a Rubies product...I am shocked!!!!:lol

Actually from a distance it does not look that bad, it is the thinness of it that makes it not work up close. :thumbsdown
Might be a good cheap base for a better wall hanger with some work.:)

That's not the one I was talking about but a diff one. In any case I was mostly thinking of getting one for the sound unit etc.

Same saw, different paint job.

If all you want is the sound unit, go to Toys R Us, and buy the weed trimmer toy for kids. NOT the chainsaw toy. The trimmer sounds more like a saw.

If you're looking for chainsaw sound...go to spookyfx.com
I bought one of their saws, Granted it's $650! and a real saw costs $100.
BUT you cannot use a real chainsaw inside a haunted house...gas fumes, gas, ect.
So this is a digital sound, done with two speakers, the big speaker in the saw is the running sound, there is a smaller speaker that when the trigger is pulled fires the rev up sound. This sucker is loud! Louder than a real saw. Plus with the haunted house biz you don't have that embarassing jump out and pull it and it doesn't start.

Maybe you can talk to the guy and he'll sell you just the guts.

We just removed the blade off a real chainsaw and played the sounds on hidden speakers which my friend playing Leatherface would cue right before he jumped out. Cost a LOT less than $650 and works just as good as sounds coming from a fake chainsaw.
