RPF challenge. Identify Dracula's tie tac.

Hey folks. Still hard at work on the R&D portion of this costume. Fabrics purchased, patterns in the works, wigs in the mail. glasses on the workbench. Just need one more piece to nail down. The pesky tie. The fabric still eludes me, but I'm still hopeful. The tie tack is the biggest problem though. Reference on it is shaky at best, and I feel I will be making some of it up based on blurry shapes.

To clarify...

Zoom and sharpen in photoshop. Not easy when the original image is only 2.5 pixels per inch.

If anyone has some info that I've missed in my searches, please interject. I have come up nil on existing resources for a pin replica, so I have resolved to make one. I'd be more than happy if this item already exists.

That being said. Does anyone have any suggestions, information, better reference, etc. that might help in getting a clearer idea of what this piece looks like? I've been hard pressed to find any higher res pics than a DVD screencap. They didn't seem to like promo pics much on this film.

I'm currently seeking other sources of information to find a tie-in to what the pin may be designed after. It looks as if it could be a coat of arms. I tried to cross reference the Dracula coat of arms, and no go on anything that resembled the pin.

All help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

May not be much help, but it's out on Blu Ray. If you know someone with a player and can lay hands on a copy you may be able to get a better cap.

Lots of "ifs" I know...

I think you guys are really on to something here. That last pic of yours Kylash , you can see the detail alot better than most of my screengrabs. And that romanov pin really brings it together. Nice work guys!

This is the best I can do ATM.

I think Ramiel's got it pretty darn close. Just looks like a variation.

Agreed. I've already begun a sculpt. I basically took the ROmanov pendant into photoshop and stretched it lengthwise so that it would be narrower. Looks spot on. I'll post pics when i get a model down.

Are you going off that first screengrab? Cuz the whole frame in that first one is stretched a bit.

Well I'm not sayin' you shouldn't sculpt one! I think all those pins you guys have found so far are extremely close, and definately based on the same thing, but I'm not sure they're exact.

I say sculpt one. Flex that creative muscle! Or don't listen to me, I'm not actually interested in obtaining one of these, I just thought I'd try and help out with a screencap. :)
