ROTS Obi-wan and Anakin lightsaber Project (OWK preview on pg 11)

So pleased to have been able to jump on this one, I was there refreshing anxiously at 11pm UK time ..... to echo others, yes please do the Anakin ROTS to go with it Starkiller :D

Part of me feels bad for missing out on this, until another part of me remembers I hate the ROTS saber designs.

And yet...

Random side note, as I sit staring at Starkiller's shop page... How the hell has he not sold out of the Darth Maul hilt?! Those have got to be one of the best deals in the history of lightsaber replicas. Especially now that the Duel of the Fates set is about to be complete, that just blows my mind. Anyway. Back to refreshing the shop like a madman.
I purchased a Maul recently from Starkiller, it arrived with me in the UK yesterday, such a fast delivery service, very impressed all round! Been wanting to get one for ages and with all the static hilt fun going on with Obi and Qui TPMs runs and wanting to complete the Duel of Fates set, I took the plunge. So glad I did as I love the kit.. just need that threaded rod now :)

I would love to see more prequel hilts from Starkiller, screen accurate mixed materials, static or FX i'd be up for them. Dooku and Mace are high up my list but would also love some clan hilts.

Same! I have a Nicksdad Obi ROTS which I love, but I was seriously contemplating picking this one up, too.

Just curious, what's the internal diameter of the hilt in case we want to install/add weight?

While May 25th is actual STAR WARS Day, I did take advantage of the 4th to begin a rewatch of the films, beginning with the 1977 original. Enough time has passed that my wounds are finally healing, and I can just get sucked into the movies without thinking about the past decade's worth of..."content".

Anyway, I'll be watching ROTS in the next few days, and I intend to keep an eye on which Obi-Wan sabers appear in which scenes, in anticipation of receiving this gorgeous replica.

Yeaahh, I’m definitely gonna need one of the Anakin ROTS’s to go with the General McGregor.

I do find myself wondering if this aluminum version of the Aniflex appears in the film proper. Looks like chromed resin most of the time, or at least highly-polished aluminum.

It’s been on cable all weekend. Been watching it when I have down time

Hey guys,

So, before I get to the punchline, I have to provide a bit of background.
As most of you know, there were multiple versions and classes of lightsaber props created for the Star Wars prequel trilogy. And in ROTS, there seems that there were a class of "hero" props that were a combination of metal and chrome plated resin.

In the Azarian collection, you can see a version of the prop where the body is machined aluminum but the bunny ears and spherical bulb release part are plated resin.

Like wise, with the Obi-wan saber it looks like there were some that had metal emitters, but cast and plated control boxes and pommels. (I think that's why when MR did their version of the saber, they featured a raw aluminum emitter part but a chrome plated pommel and control box--to replicate the original mixed material construction).

Anyways. The reason why I bring all of this up is because a little bit before the release of ROTS back in 2005, I was lucky enough to acquire a few original production made lightsaber parts. I got a resin set of Anakin bunny ears, Anakin resin bunny ears, a resin OWK control box, and a resin OWK pommel. The details on these pieces are a little different from some of the replicas out there, but all original to the film production.

And I'm wondering what people think about me doing some version of an Anakin ROTS saber and OWK ROTS saber that involved first generation castings off of these original pieces, chrome plated, combined with machined aluminum replicas parts, to try and get as close as possible to the types of props used on set in the prequels.

I'd love to hear feedback. What you might be looking for. What might make sense and what might not.

He’s got that light speed shipping.

make sure you properly dispose of the box. Lightspeed shipping tends to leave behind radio active particles

Oh, this is purdy.

Awesome kit Starkiller! Goes very nicely next to your older V2 I had commissioned into a motorized stunt replica by Halliwax. Can definitely see a few similarities in designs between the two. Going to need a case for this one as well!
Thank you for another great hilt!
