Awesome kit Starkiller! Goes very nicely next to your older V2 I had commissioned into a motorized stunt replica by Halliwax. Can definitely see a few similarities in designs between the two. Going to need a case for this one as well!
Thank you for another great hilt!
What!!! I need this display case, that is beautiful!!!

I only had time to unbox it before I ran out the door, today, so I'll have a more in-depth look when I get a chance. I did note, however, that the clamp card design appears to be just etched, rather than filled with paint/whatever, as on other replicas.

As you can see from my photo, the etched design still pops, but I should go back and look at the reference to see what look the actual props had.

It is a genuine beauty. Mine is missing chrome on the front of the control panel, though. Hopefully, there’s a spare control panel I can exchange it for.

Finally had some hands-on time with this baby. While I prefer the brass/copper neck version, the dark bronze look is still really cool.

Also, how is the clamp card attached? Pressure fit? Glue? I’d like to pop mine out and reinstall it, because it’s actually bowing in the middle. Also still not sure about highlighting the etching with paint.

I also tightened the screw and nut which holds the Covertec/booster/pommel together, because there was some rattling going on. This allowed me to get a look at just how ingenious the engineering is for anyone wanting to flip the parts to allow for sound venting. Very cool.

This is a gorgeous, accurate prop, top to bottom, right down to the simulated threaded rod in the emitter. Bring on the Anakin!

Compared to the Korbanth (which appears to be a close copy of the MR), although it should be noted that I repainted the copper part of the neck and the clamp greeblie on the Korbanth:

The glue piece (?) on the bottom silver greeblie came off (inside the hilt) and so the greeblie isn't sticking. Any suggestions for getting it to stay put?

After rewatching ROTS, I’ve been reminded that, while the brass/copper-necked version appears to the primary belt-hanger, it appears that this dark bronze-necked variant was the one used as the basis for the digital stunt model appearing in the Grevious duel sequence and various other scenes where the saber falls or is Force-pulled. And, of course, it was the one photographed for reference, with the images appearing in the ROTS VISUAL DICTIONARY and elsewhere.

Here's a comparison I put together of the various prop versions I have high resolution images of and my Starkiller replica. I think this run most closely replicates the second one from the left (chromed clamp section, raw aluminum emitter & pommel). I also think the powerful studio lighting for these images makes the grenade sections on the real props look more glossy than they would in natural light. I tried to replicate this in my picture of the replica, but I only have a cheap lightbox from Amazon. To my eye, even in my crumby picture the replica grenade looks much glossier than it does under normal circumstances. The point I'm trying to make is I'm pretty damn happy with this replica!
