ROTJ Speederbike reference needed

Guys, i have a want. Reckon there would be any interest in a sculpt of the concept Scout to adorn this bike? I really am set on it TBH, something akin to the GG statue a while back?
Going to email the guy i want to sculpt it in the AM, just wondered if we all went in together and cast it, may look cool, if not, ill carry on regardless.

Lee

YES - absolutely

Cool guys, thats reassuring news lol. Ill put the question in when i get home, reckon a rough scale at 1/10 for the figure, ill need to grab all the bodywork out to be sure, but lets see where it goes.

Lee

Hi Lee,

I might be interested depending on price.

I was actually going to try to display both the concept model (without biker) next to the studio model with a stop motion puppet. Wouldn't it make more sense to recreate a concept biker design for the concept maquette? I don't remember if I've ever seen a concept design of the scout trooper btw.

Think ive got some pics at home somewhere, but the one i want is in the SW to Indy Archives by Cotta and Vaz.
On my way home now so ill try post something up, but its the figure i wanna have done Marvin for my own bike.

SW to Indy only has pics of the full size biker. The Chronicles has one pic of the miniature filming speeder biker. This reminds me....schweinhund227 from StarshipModeler.com was doing something similar for the AMT speeder bike back in 2008. I remember his progress looking really good but since all the threads are purged over there, I have no link. This is a good idea, Lee. I wasn't planning on mounting a rider but I think I would now.

Joe

Joe your right, it IS Chronicles i think, ill go pull it in a bit, but basically the open mouth "goggle" helmet guy is what im looking at, we could go for a standing figure beside the bike, or, leaning, sitting as per the GG statue?

What floats boats? Itll be a lot of deciding, scaling, and input as i think the Chron only shows the helmet on that particular sketch? We could maybe cross breed it with one of the other Nilo Rodis Jamero concept sketches?

This helmet design i think, i want it to LOOK concept, and not mistaken for the final design?

Then there is this sketch too, found these online to save me dragging my books out, gotta jet to work soon!

The top one I've always liked. It has some issues where the design is unresolved near the ear/jaw area. Since the drawing is just from the waist up, then I guess most of the rest of the outfit might be like the normal scout trooper.

Agreed Scott, looks good. Well ive had a ballpark quote, so need to just go through refinements and requirements really. Wont happen right away, still much to map out, but i just thought it would be a very cool addition.

lee

Awesome Allan, be nice to have you off those awful crotch rockets and back on the mans toys :lol.
Thinking along the lines of what we did with the speeder pilots maybe, group deal once all is agreed, as if its to be a multi cast item, im not swallowing the whole of the cost of the master pattern, Id only do that if it were my own one off, sound about fair guys?
Ideas, opinions, insults? All are welcome :lol

Lee

Speeder pilots? Which ones? Cloud Car?

I'm down for a concept fig. In scale standing up concept rider would be my pick. Count me in, Lee!

Joe

Sorry, Lee. Just collected my '72 seat pan that I'm modifying for my latest Honda build, and my rewound stator showed up today, as well, LOL. But, hey: it's all building, right?

Anyway, I'm with Joe, standing would be best. Just let me know my share and when to pay.

Guys, I think this might be what you're looking to do with the Ferrari bits:

Not sure how much this will help, but I contacted the previous owner of the Jedi production bible which supplied the photo which kick-started this thread. It's unfortunate that he didn't scan/archive the pictures before he consigned it because he was very eager to assist (if you happen to read this Ruben, thank you!). All he had was a low-res picture of 4 polaroids in the binder. Such a tease... I think the underside view would have been the ace in the hole. The pics provide some extra clues at least, if anything they show how close the blueprints on Chris Trevas' site are to the concept model.

Arggh!!!! Double tease! For some stupid reason ImageShack is blocked out on the pc I'm using!

I did check them out on my phone, though! It's amazing! Most, if not all, of the id's are spot on! Will take a magnifying glass to these later!!!!!

I immediately thought aircraft fuselage for the removable panel.
