I commissioned a member here to sew this for me and am extremely pleased with the way it came out. Love to know what you guys think. If anything here is photoshop worthy, feel free!

Looks very good, but the cloak is all wrong. Is that just a stand in for now or the actual final?

The costume looks great. The cloak doesn't look right to me either, but I always thought it was black, just found out it was brown a couple days ago, so I can't say anything as to its accuracy.

Also, I just realized that you look a LOT like somebody I knew in high school, is your name David by chance?

Thanks. The material on the vest is awesome and everything else is a wool, with the cloak being wool crepe. I'm not sure what I'm missing on the cloak. It looks right to me, but obviously I know nothing.

My name is Matt, but I get the "you look like so and so" a lot. I'm 23 so if I am recognized by anybody else, I'm probably not them!:lol

I thought you sorta looked like Mark Sheppard at first, LOL!

I think it looks good! :D

Cloak is not zippered. There are 3 hooks there.

Cool! In that case, all you gotta do is leave the bottom hook unfastened and fold the excess fabric inwards. A little bit of duct tape and you save yourself some tailoring and get a more accurate look.

Now seeing it all together, I think maybe I did get the curve at the center front opening a little too extreme. Wish I would have seen that screencap before.
As for being ALL wrong... Just that one tidbit doesn't the whole cloak make. The overall shape is dead-on. Most of the repros of this that I've seen have been rectangular cloaks when the screen cloak is clearly a semi-circle.

Matt. I think you should try wearing the vest belt higher. 3" or so should do.

Thanks FBR. That little photoshop takes alot of guesswork out of the alt.

Great costume! Luke is one of the several under-done characters in the Star Wars genre.

Always good to see others working on the same project: I'm working on a RotJ Luke, too :) I'll create a thread on here once I have some visual progress done. Hope you can comment on mine, too!

Now you just need to work on the whiny voice :angel

Definitely a great looking costume.

With the cloak I immediately thought that you´d make a great Count Dooku as well.

Thanks for the buzzkill. I like the cloak and it is the final. What is wrong with it?

Didn't mean to buzz kill, sorry about that. I like the shape of the robe, but i also thought the color was grey/black, not brown. Can't tell about the texture, but it looks different than the screen used.

Nice work dude! You don't see many of them out there. One of my favorite costumes from the OT for sure.

Wow.... great job on the costume...

Great details... from the vest, the tunic.... the robe with the hooks....

And great saber too.... who made the saber (is it a MR or a Parks?)

I think that is a popular misconception that the cloak is grey or black. Its apparently the lighting in the scene as evidenced by the various exibits of screen-used costume. I personally always thought it was brown due to the fact that my action figure had a brown cloak.

The fabric was described by one of the production staff as being a single layer of thin crepe that you could almost see through.

It was a pleasure to take a shot at this piece. Also my favorite costume from Star Wars. This one and Maul. My favorite look was always the battle ravaged "grey flap down" look. I noticed that, in all the reference, there was no sign of a closure to hook said flap. Movie magic I guess (i.e. different tunics for the separate looks). I actually sewed a Rare Earth magnet into the flap to give it a hidden closure.
