ROTJ AT-ST Chassis Parts?

Just wondering what the kit parts are on the ROTJ AT-ST chassis. The sort of wish bone thingy under each fender at the sides, the line of small parts on each rear side and the part inside the oval shape on the front?

Thanks,

Keith.

"wish bone thingy under each fender " : It's scratchbuilt
"the line of small parts on each rear side" : cant see what you mean, do you have any pic ? I think you're refeering to the 251 parts, but Im not sure.
"the part inside the oval shape" This is from the 8 ton.

Isn't the chassie made from the engine block of a 1/12 scale Ferrari?I don't know which one?I could use castings for detailing the AT-ST armature myself too.,as well as some actual kit parst, because I don't think solid castings will work for the chassie, you need the actual kit part, and i can't afford the $$$ for the kit.I'd trade a kit(s) if anyone were up for it?I'm updating the list in the junkyard.

Ferrari 312T John, actually you need 2 kits to complete the underside of the chassis (only one kit for the TESB AT-ST).

I so gotta get back to mine someday...

We're gonna disagree on this one Julien :lol. I'm sure the 312T4 is used twice (both shaved for the block on the bottom), the 312T is just used once (vents on either side).

I tried to orient the 312T blocks for a while, until it hit me that the original picture was the wrong way (flipped horizontally). When I flipped it, the 312T4 blocks lined up perfect, plus.. the squares on the 312T are more of a rectangle shape than the ones on the T4. The seam also matches up. I got all crazy from that one for a while.. the parts on the upper-back of the legs did turn out to be from the T4 too, so two kits works out right for that.

Here's a picture with the T4 blocks overlaid on top of the original source image at 25% opacity:

You're totally right Matt (and I used the 312t4 on mine ! :p), I agree with you... That's a long time we had this discussion, I lose my brain :lol

So you need two 1/12 Ferrari 312t4 and one 1/12 Ferrari 312T only for this area (the kind of exhaust parts on each side are from the 312T)

For the parts of the back of the middle legs, I used the 312T4 part but I modded them and cast them with a brass insert (I showed you a pic of them I think ?). Im not sure if that's the right parts but that's pretty close !

Yeah! It drove me nuts... it's funny how things just don't register mentally sometimes, I could've saved a lot of work if I'd just flipped the original picture horizontally instead of trying to work out which parts they used and how they got oriented for the longest time. I wasn't taking into account that this picture was shot when they reversed the grenade/blaster cannons on the cheeks.

At the end of the day though, I think you and me are the only ones who'd notice the difference. :sleep

Same boat John, basically I need to buy 2 more 312T kits, one for my TESB AT-ST and one for the Star Destroyer (of course the same part is used on this both models :sleep). I dont want to go with castings though, so I gonna to buy it.

PM sent John :)

Yeah Matt, I remember being bugged by the fact the pic was flipped (and that the side guns were reversed). No way to know it was from the underside ! Beside those 312T4 parts :lol
Yeah probably nobody cares except us and since the underside is almost never seen, I can understand that !
