Ronan Dex's pistol (looking for measurements)

Hey everyone, I've been lurking in the forums for a while. And I've started some mjolnir and ODST armor from Halo (thanks to the 405th )
Anyway, I'm wanting to start to make the pistol Ronan Dex uses on Stargate Atlantis, and was wondering if anyone has some good reference pictures, and most importantly, measurements. I'm hoping to make it as screen accurate as i can. Ill probably make it mostly out of MDF and bondo, but I'm going to cast the crystal power source using clear resin and red dye.
I was told about this thread on sci-fi heroes, its got a few good reference pictures, but no detailed schematics (width and length of the pistol).
Also, any suggestions on how to make it are welcome.

why don't you check out eBay for a kit.
You could easily modify it to your liking, just search for "stargate prop"

couldn't find any on eBay, and I'd like to scratch build it myself.
No-one has any measurements or schematics?

There were a couple threads here a couple years back. As far as I've seen there were never any formal or official measurments. There were some nice caps showing the blaster from various angles as well as a concept drawing but that's about it. The link you provided shows a great scratch build...

The one on eBay is a piece of crap from what I've seen.

Anyone want to make any guesses at the size? Ill try sketching it from screen shots and see what i come up with.
