Roland Deschain Costume Opinion

Hello all!
I'm beginning my costume build-up of Roland Deschain from Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, planned for Kansas City's Planet ComicCon. I have a general idea of everything I need except for the shirt and boots, since most pictures don't show those clearly. I was thinking of just using mid shin high leather cowboy boots and a blue cotton button down shirt. If there are any other opinions on this, please let me know. I'm open to all suggestions! Once I start the build-up, I will post pictures. Thank you, all, in advance.

Just remember, after Drawing of the Three\The Waste Lands, Roland's shirt changed from a denim looking shirt to a deerskin one, so you have options. Really looking forward to see what you come up with. I love the Dark Tower books!
