Rogue Troopers

Who would be interested in modeling an entire suit of Rogue One St armor for 3D printing? I'm looking to commission an artist if anyone is interested.

I think it will be interesting to see how these changes affect the 501st type accuracy seekers. Everyone wanted the wonkiness since it was on the originals, but really all logic dictates that they should look something more like what we have for Rogue One. I'm still loving the the wonky old stuff, because it "feels" like Star Wars and the artist in me longs for the hand made-ness of the old films. But perhaps many of the accuracy buffs are in it more for the baseball card collector completeness than the artistic part, and maybe the new troopers will settle in as the "best" representation. It certainly does dilute the pool of what "accurate" means!

Personally, I find the perfect manufactured look a bit boring, just like CGI models. I'm happy to watch them on film, the new Falcon looked amazing in TFA, but I have no interest in looking at it outside of the context of the movie.

Not really. I think people will enjoy the wonky OT Stormtroopers for what they are, and the perfect RO ones for what they are. Accuracy can be there in both cases, you just need to consider from which movie.

I expect most 501st members to stay with the ANH stunt suits. Many people prefer how they look. There are plenty already out there. They are pretty easy to modify to different body types.

I wouldn't be surprised if R1 suits are more expensive and harder to modify for different body types. Alot of that will depend on how the parts are manufactured.

I don't expect much modifications of OT suits with R1 details. I don't see that getting approved as a 501st costume. They want the whole suit to have the details of a specific type of suit, not a combination. For example an ANH hero belt is not acceptable for an ANH stunt costume, but it is acceptable for an ANH hero costume.

To be honest, I'm fine with most of the changes to the helmet. The only one that bugs me are the cutouts for the blue tubes. They just make it look sort of chunky. Other than that I think the sharper lines will look better with modern cameras.
