Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

I was just looking at that new shuttle.

What is up with these new shuttle design? Both of the new disney designs have overly long wings. And NO visible cockpit.

When did ship designs go down the toilet?

A lot of people on Starship Modeler were saying the same thing. I thought Kylo Ren's shuttle sucked, but this one is bad too. It's not that it's horrible, it's just the wings are too oversized and it looks like if they put a little more work into it, it would be decent. That's why I think it's funny when people bash the EU (a lot who didn't read any of it or play the games) because some of the ship designs would fit better and look cooler.

They both look like they were designed using a miscellaneous bunch of Lego. Or when the toy company runs out of film ships so they star designing their own.

But seriously...where is the cockpit glass????

To alot that is a big spoiler no matter how big or small that characters part is. These characters are all new which is a fact i look forward to with this film. Being as we have not had a chance to develop a feeling for any of these characters yet and have a slipup reveal like that it really does effect how i will look at that character from the get go knowing their fate before i know them.

Someone should have helped him being his novice ability with another language. I see it as more the person asking the questions fault than his. He was just rtying toi describe his charcater. I mean i know too much already about diego's character and the new droid.
Agreed save the panel some grief and prep them so they do not feel any nervousness about what they should or should not say. They all said too much imo.

Pretty much my thought. If I wanted to avoid spoliers, the one place I would not go would be a panel on the film, where flawed humans can let things slip, but even discounting that, we knew there was going to be the sizzle reel, plus a strong chance of a new trailer. I'd opt to let people see those and read their accounts of what they contained before viewing them myself (or not, if, from their accounts, I deemed the content to give away more than I wanted to know before seeing the film).

Most potential spoilers I already know. I don't expect anything remotely near the level of "I am your father", and we know what happens next, in-universe. Much like a film about WWII or VietNam, you know going in that it's going to be violent, people will die, and it's more about seeing how it plays out, rather than what happens.

But I can respect people wanting to go in knowing nothing about the characters or specific setting -- they, however, shouldn't be going to the panel, in that case. :p

Rogue One is looking good, to me it feels really nice just be hyped and looking forward to this film, nothing matters...spoilers or not we've got some great people trying to make great films for us...no one ever wins so it just feels nice to not care but just smile and hope, from what I know this is going to be a great film :)

Panels are meant to promote movies not give away spoilers. Trailers and the like - including "sizzle reels" are the norm - but generally outright spoilers aren't on these panels and there is absolutely no reason to expect them.

it was human error from a man with poor english and it was probably the worst day of his career, its 100% more awful for him than us...the atmosphere was bizarre when he didi it, from all sides, it was certainly uncomfortable for 99% of the room. thats enough punishment for an error at work in my book. thats not life or death :D

I'm still hoping that this will end similar to some previous material (ANH radio play and other sources) with the Rebels (Rogue One cast) holding a relay just long enough to transmit to Leia's ship, then getting overrun. That would really fit with the feel of a war movie and makes their sacrifice more meaningful IMO anyway.

Those radio dramas were amazing... I hope still canon. It would be a shame if they weren't, they're great pieces and every Star Wars fan needs to give them a listen. It's been a long while since I've given them a listen and I'd imagine some of those stories have already been altered... but, man, they were great fun.

Especially the first one, so good and with so many crazy and interesting additions to the story. I don't think the story group considers them canon but certainly a great place to lift a few elements for any new content set in that era.

IP MANs look of utter horror spoke to me the most. DONNIE obviously was stoked to be in a star wars film, he probably gave his all for the character, and his demise may have been a shock to moviegoers, or at least emotional during the course of the movie, so to out his demise would suck all the emotion out of the moment, and let's be honest, in this world economy, playing to the Chinese market is a big part of the BUSINESS of moviemaking these days.... remember going to those special editions in the theater. NOT to experience the movie, but to spot the new stuff....this will be like that

i had a job where I mindlessly drew 8 hours a day and I must have listened to those a dozen times. So good. Jedi and Empire not as much as Star Wars... But all good.

the Leia torture seen was always weird though. :lol

I dunno. I have had the radio dramas ever since they came out and have listened to them tons of times. While I do enjoy them, the Han Solo character is awful. Not so much the voice actor, but the writing. They turn Han from the rascally space pirate with a heart of gold to a total and utter A-hole, especially in the first one. If his character had been that mean spirited in the movie it would've never flown IMO.

Are the videos that are still up for the R1 panel still unedited? Or did someone edit out said "spoiler?" I got 10 minutes in to the video the other day but had to shut it down after G.C. "wooooos!"

The copies of the R1 panel are not from official sources. The spoiler is intact but for some reason they are incomplete, about 20 minutes from the beginning are missing.

I remember seeing a grainy video of the Kylo Han spoiler from TFA before the movie came out... it almost made me vomit :p I wish I hadn't watched the video...so I'm staying away from this one.

While that doesn't excuse what happened, there are some huge differences between this and the Han spoiler. Han's a character we had been invested in for nearly 40 years. Whatever happens in Rogue One would be to (mostly) new characters that we aren't really expecting a sequel to.

I'm not saying copy the radio drama, just the part about the Rebels just holding out long enough to transmit the data then presumably dying or getting captured.
