Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

re: Star Wars Standalone Film (Dir: Gareth Edwards)

Ya, I had quite a few interesting items I thought would fetch a lot and they are worthless! :D now, if I had all the large size action figures in the box, that is a different story! I do have a loose 1977 12 inch Stormtrooper with blaster.. I think they go for around $50 today.
I have Marvel Star Wars #1 and #2 comic still.... and both the Star WArs and the ESB NPR radio promotional posters which are a little rare and valuable today.... trying to think what else I have.... Oh, my Burger King posters which I thought would be valuable are worthless! :D

I never had any of the 12" figures, just the small ones. I have the X-wing, Tie-fighter, Darth's Tie fighter, the Death Star playset, the Millennium Falcon, Creature Cantina, Droid Factory, Sandcrawler playset, Hoth AT-AT playset (the base of which is exactly the same as the Sandcrawler, just white), the Han Solo blaster with sound, Luke's landspeeder, posters, books, trading cards, towels and washrags, and other various and sundry things. I have some of the more modern collectibles circa 1997 and onward, but they don't have the same sentimental value as those things I got for Christmases and birthdays growing up...:unsure

I have every set of Star WArs cards (Bluie, Red, Yellow, Green, Orange) complete with most of the stickers and the ESB complete sets (I think they only did one big or two big sets didn't they?) with some of the stickers. I too have the wonderbread cards which are actually my favorite... even today when I look at them its like a time machine and I feel like I did when I first got them! Sadly my R2D2 one has a crease and worn edges from having him in my back pocket when I was in the 5th grade! :D even wrote my name on it in pencil on the back! :facepalm

I guess you'll need to take my Star Wars Fan card as well; I didn't know there was an orange set of cards! :p Or Wonderbread cards either!

Even though your R2 card is creased, I'd imagine it has a bit more sentimental value than the others, no?

one thing I missed was the retro bubblegum SW cards they came out with a few years ago printed on chipboard like they did back in the 1970s. I wanted those! oh well... ebay maybe. I never did bother to get the widevision collector cards... they just aren't the same when you have to either mail order for them or find a comic book shop that has them locked away under glass and key and you have to buy them as a complete box set. I just want to pick up a $1.50 worth of cards for the hell of it and eat the cardboard gum! :D

Chipboard is new to me. What were they?

yes, the sentimental value is why I kept them and never threw them out or put them up on ebay and the R2 card specifically is special as he was my favorite other than Luke of course! :D I still have my r2d2 pendant I got for xmas in 1978 or 79 as well....

well, I call it chip board.. .its the old grey cardboard the printed those cards on. these days they do glossy high pressed acid free stock of some sort and to me that isn't a bubble gum collector card. I don't recall but I think it was a very short run by another company or it could have been Topps but they did a run of star wars cards on that old cardboard a few years back and I thought it was a great idea but I can't seem to find any reference to them right now.... I'll keep looking.
Here is the 5 sets of SW cards:

but before these came out they put one of 16 cards in a loaf of Wonderbread... it was really hard to get a whole set! :D

ah, here it is

Star Wars Heritage features vintage card designs printed on greyback stock and a wrapped piece of bubblegum in every pack.
September 2004, Topps will release an ambitious new card series, encompassing all six Star Wars movies – including a sneak peek att the forthcoming final film, Star Wars: Episode III. Aptly titled, Star Wars Heritage, the series is timed to coincide with the eagerly awaited Star Wars Trilogy DVD release.

I see. The ones I have are chipboard too, then.

It's amazing the memories that come back when I see these things. No matter if I'm holding things of my own or seeing them here on the net, I can remember places I was, things I was doing, people I was with, just by seeing these things and others from SW. There should be laws against what GL did to our minds with these movies!! :cry

:lol:lol

I go by the Lucasian calendar, which measures time in the manner of BSW and ASW... :lol

re: Star Wars Standalone Film (Dir: Gareth Edwards)

I still have my 1978 STAR WARS Calendar. :)

Doesn't it give you goosebumps to go back and look at it, recalling all the things that happened in your life since then? And don't you wish you could press a button to go back and be a spectator looking in on that life, like through a window or from someone else's perspective? Or are these just crazy thoughts that wring and twist through my head and no one else's?

I would probably point and laugh at myself then roll my eyes in embarrassment! :lol But history will repeat itself and I'll probably do it all again come Episode VII :lol

Wow, I had the calendar... don't know whatever became of it... :cry

there are a number of items I don't know what happened to. I kept so much, sold so much, even lost a few things that I thought I kept... but then I moved probably 20 times in 3 states so I may have left a few things behind here and there. :confused

That's easy to do. Have a kid. I have my son and see him collecting his toys and cards the same way I did and I can see he has the same feeling of excitement and joy as I did. I just love watching his enthusiasm when he loves something so much and it takes me back to when i was a kid. And he loves my props too. He's only 5 but I include him in whatever I'm making. I'm also sure 99% of people feel the same way you do.

Han in the Imperial Navy, saving Chewie is all speculation until we see it in a movie.

This entire thread is speculation until we see a movie, that's the fun part :lol:thumbsup:popcorn

It does, it's wild to see my 9 year old scrawl and drawing of balloons on my birthday! It's the only thing I ever wrote in the calendar. 9 year olds tend not to have busy schedules needing organizing. :)

Harrison Ford Impression - YouTube

Some may have already seen it. I had seen this video couple of years ago and it's currently making the rounds again. Not only does he sound like Harssion Ford, he also looks like a younger version of the actor.

Opps..just realized it was posted earlier before. Guessing by his comments there, he is definitely looking to audition for the role

Posted earlier in the thread. He's pretty good but I'd rather an actor who can do something with the role than an impressionist.
