Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Post-release)

Yeah, saw it in 3D first than 2D. 2D was MUCH better. 3D added nothing and only served to darken and
unfocus areas of the screen.

Thanks .
That's what I keep hearing, guess I'll pass the
3D on this one . Doctor Strange was good but most others have not seemed worth it , at least out of the few I have watched this year .

Has everybody's 3D experience been MEH on R1 ? I have only heard bad things so far .

Yeah, I saw it in 2d first, and then 3d today. Definitely wasn't worth the extra money, it mostly just darkened the screen and messed with Tarkin. It was pretty cool for the starship battles though.

Interesting video here, where, among other things, he notes that some of the imagery from Rey's vision in TFA seems to match designs from Jeddha in R1, bringing up the possibility that Jeddha was the location of the events in it. It's all speculation, of course, but it has interest, as well as some of the other speculation there.

I liked that. It set it apart from the main saga, but still kept star warsish. That's what they do for rebels in each episode.

Yes. But with Rebels and Clone Wars the theme is still from the original JW score. Different tempo, different key but still Star Wars. Star Warsish is parody

Doug Chiang interview,....gonna have to get that Art book,

Thank YOU! I thought it was just me or my crappy seat position. Im gonna see it again in 2D to get the full visual.

Moving this discussion to the proper thread.

How so? both start out as rough and tough characters willing to kill and both wind up in the same spot. only one starts out working for the rebellion.

I'm assuming imwe is the blind guy?

Possible Spoilers here. I will try not to get too involved. stop reading now if you don't want to risk it.

Is it stated anywhere that he's a former jedi? if so,I retract the statement. i'd need a second viewing to see if his background was explained properly. If Not....and it was my assumption that he wasn't.....
That would mean he is a student of the ways of the force without being a true force sensative, and probably whipped up the bo staff to immitate a lightsaber. I'd go further, but that would get into more spoiler territory. but considering that most people dismiss the force and the jedi as nothing but hoey and don't give them a second thought, to me he came off as a force fan boy. a worshiper of super heroes like we do superman only his superman is a proven real hero.

did that explain it better?

Yes Cassian and Han are both willing to kill-but for completely different reasons. And Imwe (yes, he's the blind guy), isa gaurdian of the Whills. The force, as presented in the PT, is basically a magical power that chooses certain people to be able to wield it. Whereas in rogue one it's more of a religion, and knowledge of it isn't confined to the Jedi and the Sith. Yes, they're the ones that can 'use the force' or 'wield' it. But other other beings trust in the force, truly BELIEVE in the force, and yet cannot 'use' it. It's a lot more realistic to how real- world religion and belief works. Again, I apologize to mods if this is breaking rules.

Chimwut isn't wielding the Force, though, he's accepting of it, a vessel for it to fill, but his abilities and senses are a result of that relationship.

Yea "magic stick man" was SOOOO believable.... :wacko Whack a stormtrooper with a stick and they are instantly killed! lol

Agree VERY cool concept!

Wow, I loved the U-Wing, but that concept picture might be even better!
