So, I was wandering around on the net and found this. I think this would make for a great easy to make paper prop replica, but I need a little help figuring out the fonts. anybody have a clue?

Thanks,

Looks like Engravers Old English for the title and other matching bits.
Not sure on the writing one.

This is a great site for identifying fonts, just click on "what the font" and follow the directions.

http://www.new.myfonts.com

I use it all the time.

Yep, it looks like Old English. The typewriter font looks like Kingthings_Typewriter and the other font, the font "english" comes very close, but is not 100% perfect...

But was the name not John Patrick Mason???

Onkelpsycho I have found the scripty font and laid out the second page. I am out of town already for the weekend so I can't finish this up right away, but would be happy to combine efforts once I get back to my main PC on monday.

Ok, the font is named commercial script.

Also, in terms of the presidential seal, it looks embossed to me. Does anybody know of a good way to get that effect without getting a proper embosser made?

Hello,

I don't mean to cause trouble but I don't believe the script is "Commercial Script". It was the first one I thought of but it doesn't really match.

I ran this through What The Font and it didn't have any matches either - this one being one of its matches:
Copperplate Script - Webfont & Desktop font « MyFonts

I think Exmouth or Kunstler Script or even Edwardian Script may work better. They should all be free as well. If some one has a better suggestion please let us know.

I am using English Towne for the other font. It seems too wide though.

Here is also a copy of the Presidential Seal to play with:

I will bow to your superior font research abilities. It was a little tough for me to tell some of the details of the font.

I have been using that same presidential seal, here is my touched up and background removed version.

Excellent work on the Seal. Very nicely done. :thumbsup

The font is driving me crazy. I can not find it anywhere.

I may have to settle.

There is already a seal with removed backround on google picture search...

If someone want to help, make it blue... :lol

I tried it now with Old english & English, looks not too bad, but maybe someone can make the Donals duck signature, that drives me mad...

I dont have options like that... My PC is free from photo software...

I make everything with the cheapes programs, so I often have some problems... :lol

Normally I redraw stamps with ink by hand, but that US stamp has got too many small details to redraw...

Here is the seal in blue. I can adjust the color if necessary, just let me know!

Here is what I've got so far. Let me know what you think.

Looking good spam

I just noticed one little thing - It looks like "by order of the president of the United states of america" on the first page and "the president of the united states" on the second page may need to be a lighter shade of blue. It looks that way in the original ( I know........I'm being nitpicky:rolleyes)

The rest of it looks great:thumbsup, It looks like you've matched the fonts exactly.

Tom - Thank you so much. Looks great.

Spam - Excellent job. Did you find the font? Or did you, as I suspect just clean up and fix up the existing image? It looks terrific, an incredible job. Thank you for the share.

It was made using the fonts I mentioned in the earlier post. Except for the signature, which was extracted from the existing image.

I am trying to get a more exact match on the fonts and finish this up.

I made one with "Patrick", thats maybe not screenacurate, but I like it more, because if I want to frame it, everyone will look and tell me allways "it was another name"... :lol

First version looks like that, here and there are some mistakes, but its only a "starter" version... :)
