    Greetings from the SDF-1!

I've completed a build of a Macross / Robotech pilot helmet, which you can see build details for here
I'm offering raw cast kit and optional visor mounting kit, if you want to mount a motorcycle visor from bell (link currently broken)

Prices (excludes shipping - PM me your zip code for actual shipping cost)
    - Raw cast kit: $200
    - Mounting kit: +$10

    - Lead time - The helmet is made to order, although I try to keep a few extra on hand if I see a lot of enthusiasm. It takes me a week, sometimes less to ship it out, more if there is lots of demand or if my day job keeps me from making these.

The raw cast kit will come with the helmet and the two prongs on the front. It will be an untrimmed and unpainted slush cast using Smoothcast 300. Minimal body work will be required to trim the flashing and sand and fill in some minor imperfections. Paint your favorite pilot's color scheme!

The visor mounting kit will consist of a series of nylon washers and hardware, as well as a template to locate them on the helmet.

The kit does not include foam padding, since not everyone's head is the same.

lastly: This helmet is not for road use!!! It is only intended for cosplay or display.

    Thanks for looking!

My head has circumference of 23" and it fits with room to spare.
The opening is 6.1" wide at the narrowest and roughly 7" a the widest.

    Hope this helps

Mounting kit is still TBD. It'll be a series of washers and screws to get the visor to go in the correct spot. You can probably figure it out of your own, but I figured I can figure it out for everyone.

Not at the moment. I have to finish one for myself first and then figure out the process.

I'm defiantly interested in the mounting kit but I'd be a lot happier if there were details of it available in advance

You can always get it later. I won't charge for shipping if I send it at a later date.

Giving the thread a nice fist bump, since I've already shipped 3 of these and I need to make more before the resin cures in the containers :D
I resupplied on the mounting kit parts, so I'll be sending one to xcelsior, and he'll just have to buy me a beer at dragon con instead.

Awesome! Very tempted to pick one up but need to measure my head first.

How do the two small details on the front at the bottom attach (dark blue) ? I see them in the top photo but your headshot they are missing.

I fixed the broken image (last image, on the last post)
The prongs are just epoxied in place. I waited a looong time to paint and attach those, but now they're on, finally, and I padded the inside of the helmet for a snug fit.

I can definitely paint one, but I'm never happy with the way it comes out. Maybe I'm too critical.
I can check with another local artist I know that may be able to paint it for you, and get back to you on that.
