'Road House' Remake: 'Fast and the Furious' Director Rob Cohen Enlisted by MGM

The ultimate stupid movie is being remade? The Earth can now explode and put us out of our misery...

Generally, I agree that it's the bad movies that should be remade to--hopefully--turn them into good ones. BUT the initial film must have an interesting story that was not handled well and deserves a second take. This film, however, had a dumb story and was solely a vehicle for Swayze to run around in tight pants with his shirt off, so should be discarded and forgotten for the turkey it was.

Certainly not a highlight of Ben Gazzara's career.

Oh, come on. I really enjoyed "Road House" when it came out. It's not as bad as people make it out to be.

The movie I'm looking g forward to is the one the director is currently working on in which J.Lo playes a "psychotic MILF". :D

The Swayzie movie got named "Dirty Fighting" over here to capitalize on the one movie he was famous for at the time ...
Because of that I expected it to be really bad, but I found it to be merely mediocre.

It has a certain style, it is certainly an '80s movie. I expect that the people doing the remake has a new take on it in mind.

I enjoyed the original for what it was, 80's action cheese.

This movie has never appeared on my 'needs a remake' radar, nor should it.

The haters, they will hate. Roadhouse is a cinematic masterpiece. Beethoven's 8th, with roundkicks.

But so much of that movie was centrally 80's. The world is entirely too pussified to handle a movie about zen-bouncers and small town tzars getting cummuppanced (with roundkicks).

When was the last time you watched it?

Ages :) There are countless movies that are enjoyable because of the current zeitgeist. Watching them years later will of course not be in their favour. I remember this movie because it had pink credits, and movies with pink credits at the time were often not my cup of tea.
