Tony Dow, Wally Cleaver on ‘Leave It to Beaver,’ dies at 77

“Leave It to Beaver” star Tony Dow died Tuesday morning, two months after revealing that he had been diagnosed with cancer, his management team announced. He was 77.

His cancer came back with a vengeance. I became friends with a few years ago and we messaged each other just a few weeks ago and he seemed in good health and spirits considering his fight. I was confident he was going to beat it.

Sad news, “Leave It To Beaver” was a glimpse into the past where everything was so different and so much better for it.

He directed some episodes of major franchises later when the acting dried up.
