He was probably my favorite wrestler. I'm glad I got to meet him once, years ago.

    Plus, you know, They Live...

He was my favorite, even more than Hulk or Randy Savage.

Never followed the wrestling gig but "The Live" was epic and he made it so.
Definitely could have had more of a film career as far as I am concerned.

So many fond memories of watching him on the WWF, especially at Wrestle Mania. Piper's Pit was always something I looked forward too seeing. I got a kick out of him in They Live. Shame he didn't do many more movies afterwords. He was a class act and died way too young.

    R.I.P., Hot Rod

Wow that's way too young to go.

Both him and Keith David had parts in the Saints Row IV game where they argue about who won the fight between them in They Live. Keith David says something like "You know that wasn't real?" :lol

RIP Roddy, we're losing the most entertaining wrestlers the WWE/WWF ever saw. They'll never match the bunch of characters we had in the 80s. He's barely even cold and the prices for his wrestling figures is sky high, and they look nothing like him.

I didn't hear about this. That's too bad. He's the one that made kilts cool in the 80s

Not a wrestling fan, but loved Rowdy Roddy as a kid from watching "They Live" and "Hell Comes to Frogtown" religiously.

    You too...?

Certainly was a part of "the 80's". I wasn't too into WWF but my good friend was and loved RRP. He certainly was entertaining to watch.

One of the best talkers the business ever had! He could make you hate him, or love him, and always had the audience right where he wanted them.

    Rest in peace, Hot Rod.

Sad day for sure. I saw on another site that, "in true Hot Rod fashion, he had to steal the spotlight from Hogan one last time." RIP Piper

A guy in my Destiny clan was due to see him soon at an event and was shocked last night when I told him. I can only imagine the trouble he and the other WWF wrestlers of the 80s who went before him are getting into now.

I'm sorry he didn't get to see his "namesake," Ronda Rousey, win Saturday night. He would have approved, I'm sure.
