i wouldnt feel right if i didnt warn someone who may be thinking of bidding on this.

its a scam, the guy spent maybe, MAYBE 60-100$ for the glass, or he got screwed big time.

there is no reason that this should cost 600$.

its a big chunk of vaseline glass. anyone who makes this could make a paperweight of the same size for maybe 100$ tops.

if someone really needs a piece of vaseline glass that badly , let me know and i will put you in touch with the right people who wont rip you off.

just a heads up.

Wow that is a rip off. if you look at the last picture at the bottem of the auction page, his kryptonite looks like $h.t

Anyone who bid on that has to be out of their mind. Especially if they go for they BIN price. Like we are supposed to believe it's really radioactive.

I'm going to buy it and hug it so I can get mutant powers. Maybe I will get x-ray vision. :love Ooo, or telekinesis, that would be soooo awesome. :wacko

Why you gotta spoil it with reality?.? :angry

actually, vaseline/uranium glass IS radioactive. and you can sell isotopes and whatnot as well.

it is just that you have to declare it "safe", meaning if you buy trinity glass you have to say its radioactive, and put a small disclaimer saying "do not carry in front pocket" or something.

chris

most of that kind of low-radiation is fine to keep around as long as you aren't in exposure to it 24/7 or ingest it.

i remember a while back 1940's, FIESTAWARE made a plate that was coated with "radioactive red" orange colored paint. obvioulsy now it is no longer made, but alot of schools use them to test for traces of radiation

......and knowing is half the battle

I thought it was against the COC to post live auctions? And since when is marking up the price of an item "a rip off"? I thought it was worth what someone was willing to pay for it? Isn't that the whole premise of ebay? Sounds to me like this forum just happens to disagree with the guys pricing strategy.

Though the part about it being radioactive is a bit weird. HOWEVER, in the most rudimentary sense, the item is indeed radioactive. It just doesn't give off lethal doses of anything.
