I knew a woman who lived 2 houses down from him in the late 80s. She said Dennis Hopper would show up beating on her door at 3am asking to borrow a cup of sugar. :lol

He will be missed...:cry

I knew he was ill, but this still comes as a shock.

I remember my dad once commented when I was still in elementary school, that once you start seeing the movie stars you grew up with start dying off... it means you're getting old.

When I saw him at his Hollywood Walk of Fame induction I could see he didn't have long. I called it to several friends and now I regretfully can say I told them so.

I liked him because he seemed so unpredictable both on and off screen. I may just watch Hoosiers or Blue Velvet later on and I know Apocalypse Now will be spinning on many dvd players tonight.

Sad...sad...sad...

On the set of "True Grit," Hopper so angered John Wayne that the star reportedly chased Hopper with a loaded gun.

What a great guy, this really sucks.

I watched old TV footage of Hopper in the opening day parade of Disneyland, July 1955. Disneyland, 1955! Just Wow. He was barely 20 years old and was already becoming a star.
