My contact over at Titan Books just emailed me saying that Joe Simon passed away yesterday afternoon. Joe created Captain America and other characters along with his partner Jack Kirby and is one of the gods of comics. I think he was 90, so a good long life.

Just saw him at NY ComicCon in October.

    RIP, Joe.

Here he is at NY Comic Con in October, his final public appearance. At his panel he got a big laugh and applause when quipping "Stan Lee? I taught him every thing he knows."

This is sad news... I loved that man he is one of my real life heroes and he was and still is one of the greatest men who ever walked this planets surface. I will miss you Mr. Simon and carry your creation and life lessons with me for the rest of my life.

    Steven "Captain America" Rogers.
