RIP Andy Griffith

Damn!

We were just talking about him on Sunday and hoped he was well.

He will be greatly missed! :(

Very sad. The original Andy Griffith show provided a lot of years of entertainment for me during my youth... :(

It still does for me! :lol

Thats the beauty and the sadness right there for me.

I'm devastated that he is gone but he will live forever through that show and continue to show new generations how small town America once was

I'm going to put in "No Time For Sargents" tonight

There are people like him, George Burns, Johnny Carson, that you are so used to having in the world, it's a shock when they leave it.

R.I.P. Andy The man was a phenominal talent, and very underrated. You want to see a really reprehensible bad guy, find "Savages", where he's a hunter who's accidentally killed a man, so he's hunting his guide in the desert to eliminate the only witness.

Salvage One Actual, Signing off.

Damn. I just went to Mt Airy here in NC last year and went to the jail, the museum and ate at Snappy Lunch.

The Fishin Hole lyrics (aka the Andy Griffith Show theme)

You only ever heard this whistled at the beginning and end of the show, but here are the actual words to the song. Just try to read them, without hearing that catchy whistling in your head......

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, now, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole,
We may not get a bite all day, but don't you rush away.

What a great place to rest your bones, and mighty fine for skippin' stones,
You'll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin' in the shade.

Whether it's hot, whether it's cool, oh what a spot for whistlin' like a fool.

What a fine day to take a stroll and wander by The Fishin' Hole,
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

We'll have no need to call the roll, when we get to The Fishin' Hole,
There'll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey, to doodle time away.

If we don't hook a perch or bass, we'll cool our toes in dewy grass,
Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw.

Hangin' around, takin' our ease, watchin' that hound a-scratchin' at his fleas.

Come on, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole,
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

RIP Andy.
A fellow North Carolinian :thumbsup

RIP AG,

Loved him as the sinister creep in "Pray for the Wildcats" He was a better actor than he got credit for.

Man, I'm really bummed. Andy Griffith was truly a national treasure. The Andy Griffith show is a timeless reminder that you can be extremely funny and entertaining without resorting to cheap/obnoxious humor

I think Ron Howard is the last actor fron Andy Griffith alive now.
