Richard Belzer, stand-up comic and TV detective, dies at 78

NEW YORK (AP) — Richard Belzer, the longtime stand-up comedian who became one of TV's most indelible detectives as John Munch in "Homicide: Life on the Street" and “Law & Order: SVU,” has died.

I never knew him as a stand-up comedian so it's really odd to hear others still thinking him as one and not just John Munch. RIP to him.

Loved the dry wit. Sports host Paul Finebaum is similar in his delivery.

Talked with him many times on my visits to the set of “Homicide, Life On The Streets”.

We had a lot of fun talking about UFO’s and all sorts of Govt. conspiracy theories!

He will be missed by many……
