They look great. What did you use for the base of the gloves?

This is the Petzl gloves, but with a heavy modification. I removed the padding and double leather piece, then sew it again and add another piece of smooth leather on the back. I dyed the gloves with brown leather paint (havane color). I used the two left pieces of leather (center in the last pic) to extend the lenght of the gloves.

I would like to ask a question about these Petzl gloves please. I need to know what the dimension of the thumb insert is (see photo below)? Many thanks!

What an amazing work you've done with the staff! You really made it justice, and as the 3D designer I'd like to thank you very much for bringing my computer work to life like that.

Well you're welcome (I think?) But the staff kit didn't come from you. .. it was purchased from JJGriffin. So credit goes to him for the 3d work.

No, no, @T5H definitely deserves a bunch of the credit! He was responsible for modeling that incredible piece of work so we could get a bunch of Reys their kits in time for the premiere! The staff (and many other projects) would not be possible without all his awesome hours invested and we are eternally grateful :)

Well there we have it then...and I stand corrected. :thumbsup

also, my apologies to T5H... I sincerely did not mean to offend, and now that I know how you've contributed you have my undying gratitude. :)

Thanks!

The greeblies all came from my RPF Angel.

As for the stitching...believe it or not I did it all with my little HuskyStar sewing machine. :cool

I had originally considered this Messenger Bag kit-bash to be a temporary solution. But now that it's done, it's solid! I think I'll be happy as-is without making a costly trip to Tandy Leather to make a "better" one. :thumbsup

I will tonight LOL.

I won't be able to resist suiting up now that I have all this in place. :thumbsup

After work today i'm off to find a cheap kitchen throw rug to cut up and make the shoulder pad from. I also need to add a bit more webbing to the left shoulder strap, above where the small silver canister goes. I have some E6000 drying on that bit just now, so it will have to wait till tonight but then I can show that little gem, too. I found the correct chain to hang on it, but never did find brass eye screws to fasten it with, so I used brass screws for now.

You did a really great job on them. Thanks for posting all the pictures!

If it can help, I'm happy :)

My Scavenger Backpack is COMPLETE!! And the best part is that I was able to stitch it all together myself, where I had thought I would need to take it to a leatherworker to do it!

Wow, wonderful work on the pack! Good luck with the RL. May I ask where you got the two greeblies on the lower front from? Were they from an RPF member? They look awesome. :)
