Rey - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Build (open for everyone!)

This thread is a wealth of knowledge! I was wondering if there was any chance of editing the original post with a list of all of the generally agreed upon accurate pieces/sources?

Thanks!

That's a good idea. Maybe put a list of all of the accurate pieces/sources with a note to cheaper resources. I could use some help though! (Sadly, I haven't been keeping up with this thread as I'm so far behind on my costume due to finances.)

Compiling an "official" list at this point would be greatly appreciated. I keep trying to remember what page I read something on and having to go back and try to find it. Not easy in this 66 page thread (which is awesome!). So thank you to whomever takes the time to put that together.

I think i've found the perfect wrap dress fabric. I've been ordering samples for weeks now and this is the only thing I'm really happy with. Even the Dharma fabric I found a little disappointing, i found it a bit stiff (like it wouldn't drape well).

After looking around at all the fancy fabric stores in the end ebay turned out to be a great place! I ordered a few samples and thought maybe the fabric was a bit too dark but I went ahead anyway and ordered it and it's fab!

It is a viscose with a slight crinkle, which is perfect! It drapes so beautifully and it is pretty much the perfect colour already. I just need to age and weather it slightly. Also the crinkle goes in the direction of the selvedge so it's perfect for the wrap dress.

They're currently out of stock as I got the last of it but i'm sure it'll be back in stock soon if anyone is interested.

That is incredibly helpful!

Any Aussie's that want a staff, I am test printing one I have modelled up, the pieces will slide over 20mm (inside diameter) PVC pipe from bunnings, I think it was $6 for the pipe and $3 for the connectors so you can break it down into two parts when traveling. Once I have tested it I'll look into making the files available/printing them for people if interested.
I have a few spare pieces from the test print that I am happy to send to anyone in Oz for free, if they cover postage. Thought they may as wll go to a good home. PM me if interested in the free bits (end cap, a pommel and a few other bits) might save you a bit of time making one.

Awesome, thanks! Does anyone happen to know what clasps people used to attach the lobster clasp to the staff itself? I know I saw it somewhere in here.

I used these. They are 1" not 1.5, but I'm making a scaled down version of the costume for my 8 year old.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks again to EVERYONE who has contributed to this thread over the months, because all of that research, suggestions, sourcing and details...this just in today!!! :-D (I'm not stoked, and definitely not careening around in little circles making weird noises). Nope.

You guys rock!

How many metres of it do you think would be needed?
