Rey - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Build (open for everyone!)

Apologies if I missed a post about it, Puck, but which pants did you end up buying? Am assuming it's one of the F21 options?

Hey everybody! Great thread and great finds! Today I found some time to work on my take of Rey's outfit, after I ordered some things a long time ago...
I started with customizing the white leather gloves by adding the fabric parts.

As I work from the little finger towards the thumb, I wondering if anybody found or took a picture where you can see the design of the thumbs. Is there a fabric part shaped like on the climbing gloves or is it a different design?

Furthermore, I dyed a pair of trousers to better match the color of the other fabric I bought.

Right now, I think it matches quite well.

Hello and welcome.

On the gloves the only real difference from the climbing gloves is the cuff and the palm/thumb being suede.
And you can knit pick the material on the knuckles.

There is an elastic insert scrunching the palm side of the cuff.
Most gloves usually have this on the top side.

I can post a pic when I get home from work this afternoon.

Anyone have thoughts on what the grey material around the goggles might be?

I was wondering that myself. I ended up picking up a suede like grey leather from tandy leather that looked close to that. it was in their scrap bin so that worked out great!
I was also successful in dying some material for the boots. I have yet to complete them. as for the gloves I ended up getting those climbing ones and removed the bottom of it. they are a little short but that recent picture gave me the idea of how to fix the edging.

my left arm for a high quality up close pic of her side... I want to see it better and they finally show a shot but its too far away dangit

Division 6 posted this great colour coded photo of the wraps of Rey's costume. Super helpful! Thanks so much for that

When looking at her 'heavy gear' version displayed at Celebration is looks as if there is a third wrap around her body:
(sorry for my awful Paint skills.....)
I used red and turquoise (light blue) to stick to the same wraps as Division 6 indicated in the previous picture and added green to indicate the third wrap.

This is the best I have of the exhibit pix.

Thank you! I added some elastic straps to the inside of my gloves.
As there seem to be no pictures actually showing the thumbs, I will wait with modifying them until I know what the actually look like.

Furthermore, I roughly cut some leather (originally being an old leather coat) to start with the backpack. I quickly put some things together to get an impression of the proportions of the attached thingy...

Please follow this link and you will be able to select the boots on the second row: http://po-zu.com/collections/pre-order-womens

The great news is that they will be made with a natural gum sole as requested.

Feel free to share the link.

Dispatch will be approximately 6 weeks from order date and then allow 1 to 2 weeks for shipment to the USA or 1 week within Europe.

May good soles be with you!

Best wishes,
Cecilia

That's about $195.00 USD. Yikes! I didn't expect they'd be quite that much... but then the ARE the real thing...

Thanks Kristen.
I was just about to post this after I ordered.

Notice they decided to go with the correct color sole. (FOR THE WIN!!!) :D

My niece picked up a piece of leather at Tandy Leather so once I get it in hand I will be working on the backpack and at least starting on the belt.'(still waiting for a good pic of the right side.)

I was really happy with the shoe order. Correct sole yay!
And free shipping within Europe, so cheaper than I expected (yes still a lot of money).
But screen accurate is the magic word, so I cannot wait to wear them.

You figure that after the movie comes out even more girls will want this costume.
From a business point of view it makes sense since that means way more sales if it's 100% correct.

Anyone going to D23?
Look's like the costumes are on display with out glass in the way.

Someone needs to go photo mug it in high res.

Couple pix here,
