Revolution

I just hope every week they don''t get close to rescuing the brother have a fight and then the vilian makes an escape that will get old quick.

.Firstly, for fans in NC, the show is currently filming the finale at a Cape Fear abandoned power plant. I know a girl who works nearby & she just texted me a pic with her & the brother, Danny. She never watches the show & has NO idea who anyone is. Evidently, she saw him walk by in make up & assumed he was important so she asked for a picture.
:facepalm

I've sent her on a mission for me...a director's chair back with Elizabeth Mitchell's autograph. She's seen alot of folks walking around with them so the seem to be in abundance around there.

Nevermind about the second part of the post. It was pretty much a rant about the 'discussions' on her by the'fans' of the show, but TBH, I just don't feel like it right now:rolleyes

The steam tank is essentially a bomb waiting to explode. It creates tremendous pressure, and if a seal fails, .....

From the looks of the "explosion" after Miles threw the wood off the train, no one on that train was in danger. It would have rendered the locomative useless I'm sure, and probably derailed the cars, but they would have survived.

I'm assuming the bomb was expected to cause a breach in the pressure chamber of the locomotive. How big would that explosion be?

Wow that's certainly a bad omen for the show. 2 weeks of no discussion. It looks like it's finally starting to get interesting and really dig into the secret behind the power failure. Of course they spend most of the show on another of Charlie's stupid quests. :facepalm This show won't be renewed for a second season.

I have the last three episodes queued up on my DVR.

My wife has given up on it already. I'll catch up eventually, but I have lost the desire to watch the show.

Funny enough I missed last weeks episode thanks to no power from Sandy. I saw this weeks though. Its alright, but it still hasn't reeled me in completely yet where I feel like I just can't wait for the next episode.

That seems to be the formula for this show doesn't, Charlie always harping about hurrying to rescue her brother but then every step of the way she has to stop to do some stupid side quest. At the rate they're going, her brother will be in his 30s by the time she gets around to "rescuing" him.

I agree with you, I don't think this show is going to get renewed. I enjoy this show but I'm not invested in it like I am with other shows and unlike a lot of other 1 season shows, I won't be that sorry to see it go. I thought that shows like Alcatraz and Terra Nova wasted a lot of their potential by getting things really going too late in the season but Revolution just doesn't seem like it's going anywhere.

I'm still watching it, but I'm not married to this show. Aside from Miles and Nora, too many of the characters seem forced so it's hard to get attached to any of them. I'm still trying to like Charlie, but she doesn't make it easy, lol.

I quit watching mainly for the reasons you stated. It's just didn't draw me in and I had such hopes for it.

I liked her a lot better after the bathtub scene. :love But yeah, I don't care much about any of the characters except for one or two I actively want to get killed off. I have a feeling I will give up after I find out about who and what is behind the power being out.

I'm definitely getting frustrated with this show, as I like others had high hopes for it. However I am still watching it, but I'm not expecting it to get renewed. Like someone else already mentioned that bathtub scene and the dress she wore was nice :love, I also really like Aaron's character, and it does seem to be explaining more about the reason/cause of the blackout.

Still watching it, too, and it is getting better. Starting to answer some questions.

But man is it formulaic. EVERY episode is Charlie whining to find hr brother. Stumble upon someone needing help. Charlie, "We have to help them!" Miles, "No! We it's impossible." Charlie, "What happened to you? We're family!" Miles, "Ok. Let's help them" Charlie and Miles save the day.

I'm 'meh' about it right now. Still watching it - mostly because the wife likes it.

I'm not entirely thrilled with them starting to explain what happened.

Not that they are starting to explain it - but the explanation so far is horrendous.

The idea that is suppresses electricity I'm okay with - it's the unrealistic expectations that these pendants when on, stops the supression, allowing electricity work again...on items that have been inert for 15 years? A CD player? An iPhone? With no corrosion from the battery? A lighthouse after 15 years of no maintenance?

I knew they had some big shoes to fill to make this semi-believable but so far I don't think they'll ever come up with something believable short of 'Elfin Magic'

They need some better writers. This last episode was absolutely forgettable which is unfortunate given they had a good opportunity to really develop some of the other characters besides Miles and Charlie.

Seriously, did you expect a perfectly scientific explanation? If there WERE such an explanation, that fit all known laws of science, then we'd probably already live in such a world with no electricity because some ******* would have already done this. It was always going to be some level of 'elfin magic.'

I think the difference is believable entertainment science and rolls-eyes-too-far-fetched science.

The Core is an example of bad science to explain how things work. Rotating core stopped so we must nuke it? Inner core of huge diamonds? A phase-shifting train that can go through anything BUT said diamonds?

And there's Jurassic Park - sure now science is now saying it's nigh-impossible but when you watch it you think 'Hey, this could actually happen'

And sorry - Revolution to me falls into 'The Core' category right now.

So what you're saying is it boils down to how educated the viewer is. Friends who work in various professional fields hate it when they see a TV show or movie that has an actor portraying their profession because media never gets the accuracy of their profession right. People who watched "Hackers" thought that's how stuff could really happen. It's all dependent on the viewer.
