The steam tank is essentially a bomb waiting to explode. It creates tremendous pressure, and if a seal fails, .....
From the looks of the "explosion" after Miles threw the wood off the train, no one on that train was in danger. It would have rendered the locomative useless I'm sure, and probably derailed the cars, but they would have survived.
Wow that's certainly a bad omen for the show. 2 weeks of no discussion. It looks like it's finally starting to get interesting and really dig into the secret behind the power failure. Of course they spend most of the show on another of Charlie's stupid quests. :facepalm This show won't be renewed for a second season.
I'm still watching it, but I'm not married to this show. Aside from Miles and Nora, too many of the characters seem forced so it's hard to get attached to any of them. I'm still trying to like Charlie, but she doesn't make it easy, lol.

I'm 'meh' about it right now. Still watching it - mostly because the wife likes it.
I'm not entirely thrilled with them starting to explain what happened.
Not that they are starting to explain it - but the explanation so far is horrendous.
And there's Jurassic Park - sure now science is now saying it's nigh-impossible but when you watch it you think 'Hey, this could actually happen'
