Hello All,
I am the extremely proud owner of the first Gold Hyperblade saber.

My Review - One Word A W E S O M E !
My background is one of a saber junkie. I had old EL sabers, MR FX sabers and handled a luxeon that a friend has. All were very nice.
This saber is something else.

Blade performance - Its built like a tank and lights up beautifully in both bright and dark conditions:
1. Fully lit up dining room (150 watts overhead light)

2. Same room lights off

Build Quality - Exceptional. The team of Jim and Mark at Hyperdyne went over and above expectations on my saber. Understand that when I sent it to Mark, it had an old EL saber system in it and the body is an old Peak flashgun made of steel and brass. Not exactly easy to work on, I assure you since my cousin and I installed the EL kit 5 years ago.

Custom Machined Pommel Cap (They did this through solid Brass!)

At my direction, they took their time, had parts machined (for very reasonable additional costs) and made me a dream saber. It feels right in my hand and balances very well.
One thing to note is the sensitivity of their activation switch. It takes some getting used to but being able to use it to change blade pulse, flicker and ignition speed makes up for that small adjustment for sure.

Sound quality/Force Feedback Motor. Blows MR away. Its a deep resonant hum, a great whoosh when moved and when it clashes it sounds great. It does take some effort to get blade clash, but knowing these guys as I do now, I am sure there's more great things developing on that front.
The force feedback feel is very subtle in my saber, but bear in mind that the tube is solid brass, wrapped in leather with a steel band around it and I still feel it. Its just not like wrestling a chainsaw. It feels.....musical. I like it !

Customer Service - EXCEPTIONAL !
Mark Cheng was a pleasure to deal with and in the process has become a good friend. He did some very tough retrofit work very very well. Bravo, Mark. I would send anyone to HD for a blade/sound kit and a retrofitting from Mark. He knows their tech well, but he also translates into what you are looking for. HS was responsive and always on top of the work. A+!

OVERALL - An excellent bit of custom work. It will take me some time to learn all of the cool feature settings on the saber ( you can change so much stuff to suit you - COOL !), but that adds to the fun and the value. I will certainly be upgrading my personal saber and building more with HD as time goes on.

To be honest, I need to look through my emails to remember what I paid, but I will say this. If you have a choice between buying three or four MR FX sabers, save your money, call Hyperdyne, let them build your own ultimate saber.
Peace to all,
KenKenobi
