Hey guys I got this kit a few days ago and it took more interest from me than my FM x wing so I've been tinkering away with it. Made a couple subtle changes but nothing too big, the whole kit is ready for paint I'm just waiting on my painting masks from culttvman. Critisism is welcome.

I wanted to just post the pic but photobucket is being stupid and wont let me upload.

No I didn't, this one is going to hang up in the hobby shop. When I drop this one off I'll pick up a raider. I just couldn't spend 50 bucks at the time.

I need to order a Viper one of these days. I had the original kits when I was a kid (but they all melted when our house burned) and I'd love to build the kit again. Where's the best place to get one at a good price?

And the build is looking good, by the way!:thumbsup What kind of changes have you made?

I sribed the lines and re added the little bits of styrene on it. I added the plate on the nose, saw that in a conversion kit. I'm not necessarily going for accuracy. This will have more of a star wars ish typ of paint job. As far as the best place to get it? I'm not sure, I got mine at my hobby shop, most places online that I've seen are cheaper but cost more after shipping

Well since i just got my painting masks, coincidentally from atzekdummy, the cockpit is all masked off at the moment and sitting in primer. I'm about to head down to my hobby shop to see if he has any fine tip nozzles for my airbrush so i can do the preshading. Thanks for the compliments guys.

Zombie,
(BTW, I LOVE your avatar...one of my favorite films..."get a job in a sideshow..")
did you understand my instructions about removing the inner chunks of the stencils after you get them in place? It's a new method and I wanted to make sure I expressed the concept clearly enough in the instructions

honestly I haven't really looked at the directions, but at first glance my thought was to leave them on and trim them once applied to help keep them straight.

yeah, re-animator is a great flick. just finished watching the third one, I think that one is the most ridiculous out of the whole bunch but the first is by far the best.

Got some work done today, might do some washes in a couple hours. Sorry for the crappy pics, I was in a hurry to get them before my batteries died :lol

Thanks guys, I did some pastel work on it which I've never done before, this kit has a lot of firsts for me. I've done a little scribing here and there but really only things I lost when sanding seams so scribing the fuselage was a little nerve racking. On the bright side it looks like this is the frist kit that's going to be finished in a long, long time :lol

Just finished her up about an hour ago. I'm fairly pleased with the outcome, I'll deffinetly work on the paint chipping and pastel weathering a bit before trying it again.

Hi,

Fantastic piece. I'm always impressed with your beautiful weatherings guys !!!

Damn!!!! That looks great!

The only thing that bothers me is the bottles you decided to use for the landing gear. Those just don't seem to go with the rest of the model. They need more weathering.

:D

Thanks for the compliments guys. As for the landing gear haha, I woulda used the stand but where it's presently hanging up at my local hobby shop I covered up the hole for the stand. I'm working on the cylon raider at the moment, oddly enough it's being a much bigger pain than the viper ever was.
