Resin suggestions

Been a loooooong time since I've been on the site, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post..

I'm getting ready to do some mold work and castings, and I'm looking for opinions and resources in regards to casting resins.

I'll be doing some amputations to my monster clay sculpt for easier mold making, with platinum silicone.

I'm just trying to find a source for some decent casting resin that won't break the bank.

Who uses what, and where do you get your stuff?

I might be wrong, but I think pretty much everyone uses Smooth On products. One thing I learned lately is that resin goes bad... So I have a set of 1:1 that was never opened and it's bad since it's several years old.

I have several small batch, clear resin kits. They're getting old too. I'd better use them!!

I was trying to find a gallon of smooth cast 300, as it seems popular.

I've only located 325, which is the colorable stuff. Does anyone know of any major difference between the two, beyond pigment?
